Duke Nukem 64, while certainly not the fulfilling banquet that Rare's Goldeneye proved to be this year, is definitely meaty enough to fatten you up. Even if you feel like you're drowning in first person shooters these days, Duke 64 delivers enough innovative secrets and bullet riddled action to silence your cries.
-
N64 is a great FPS. Its not ground-breaking, or cutting edge, just good, solid shootem up fun.
-
The definitive action game for hardcore gun fetishists -- it''s second only to Goldeneye in the first-person adventure stakes, and a close second at that!
-
You have came to the right place for challenge. 4 difficulty levels, ranging from totally pitiful, to "Damn I'm good!" Instead of throwing more monsters in there, those good folks at Eurocom have decided to regenerate the dead for this difficulty. Oh yeah, it's hard.
-
Duke Nukem 64 is definitely a better and much more intense shooter than Hexen and Doom 64, and currently the best N64 game whith a two-player co-op mode. If you don't already own the PC or Saturn version of Duke, do yourself a favor and get it.
-
Although enjoyable, Duke could have used more fine-tuning in gameplay and perks. It seems so ordinary without the PC raunchiness - so much like Doom that there's little to separate it from other corridor shooters.
-
Gameplay is top notch. The ability to interact with the surroundings in an adventurous manner makes the game quite interesting.
