Lara's first adventure retains its capacity for wide-open wonder, but the idiosyncratic controls, punishing difficulty, and sparse environments won't appeal to a mainstream crowd the way they once did.

Tomb Raider I brings to iOS devices the atmosphere and the charm of the original episode, with better graphics and a modern saving system, but the controls are totally messed up.

To sum this whole review up, it all comes down to whether or not you have a controller. If you do, then getting this excellent version of the game for such a low price is a steal. If you don't, it's not the most expensive curiosity, but that's all it is for all but the most dedicated and patient.

For its cheap price and the ability to revisit one of video game’s most celebrated heroines, Tomb Raider is a decent enough download.

Tomb Raider I is an atrocious iOS port that is completely derailed by terrible iOS controls, and it would have been better if Square Enix never re-released it on the App Store.
