Dec 14, 2012For those without easy access to a 3DS copy of Theatrhythm, the iOS version makes for a decent, if less featured replacement; in the least you can 'pay what you like' by sticking to songs you enjoy, so it's a treat for anyone who has enjoyed one or more Final Fantasy titles.
-
Dec 19, 2012The steep IAP costs will probably act as a barrier to everyone interested in owning the whole extensive library of songs this title. Still, I'd recommend everyone at least check out the included free songs, as you might like what you play.
-
Dec 19, 2012The RPG elements feel a bit wasted in this game (and the extra song mode and bonus features from the 3DS version are regrettably missing), but the brilliant music and adorable presentation still make for an excellent rhythm experience.
-
Dec 19, 2012A less involved version of the 3DS rhythm game, this iOS venture is suited to those who have a deep love - and deep pockets - for Final Fantasy franchise.
-
Dec 18, 2012The iOS game is much abridged compared to the iOS original. The game starts as a free download with two songs, Final Fantasy VII's One Winged Angel and Final Fantasy X's Zanarkand, with the rest of the 59-song soundtrack available as in-app purchases for $0.99 / 69p each.
-
Dec 17, 2012If you just want to play a few songs for nostalgia's sake, or get really, really good at tapping to "One-Winged Angel," this should be a suitable download. But if you'd like a fleshed-out game that feels like a true tribute to the fans, you won't find it on iOS yet.
-
Dec 14, 2012Even if you can live with the high price tags for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy's in-app purchases, don't give Square-Enix a gil until it addresses and fixes the game's technical problems.
