    The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is a surprisingly deep, well-presented mobile strategy game. It’s faithful to its source material, too, both in terms of the characters and locations it brings in from the existing films and the new content it adds to the canon. The game’s slow pace may prove off-putting for more casual players, but if you’ve been hankering for something approaching a real strategy experience on mobile it’s well worth a look.

    There is some depth in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War that can attract strategy fans, but this is clearly a product engineered on mobile market and with micro-transactions in mind: it could stand inside this new breed of games as one of the best, but you have to accept many compromises.

    This game is ZERO fun. The developers do not understand how to make a game any fun at all. The menu is cluttered, the gameplay isThis game is ZERO fun. The menu is cluttered, the gameplay is intentionally grindy to make you pay as soon as possible (pay to progress), of course they also have lootboxes in the game (gambling mechanics) and ingame currency which you can buy for a whooping 120 Euros for 20000 gems, so they can convolute the real cost of ingame items. At the start of the game they say that the game is not targeted at children and no children should play the game, while in the play store the game is marked as suitable for "Teens". The gameplay feels horrible, actually like torture. Stay well clear of this "game". It has nothing to do with the real reason we gamers play games - for FUN - it is only made for extracting MONEY. If I could rate this game out of 1 to 1 Billion, with 1 Billion being the highest score I would rate it MINUS 100 Billion, it actually is that bad.… Expand
