A roguelike game with interesting level design, cool enemies and powerups, and strong religious horror elements. That checks a lot of boxes for me, gotta be honest.

The game horrifies me, the back story alone mad me feel sick. A little boy, locked in a basement trying to get out, wile fighting monsters with his tears as well as running away from his sacrificial mother is the scariest story line I've heard in a game. The monsters are grotesque, but the only downfall for me is that it's a little repetitive but that's the only downfall for me.

after losing 300 hours of my life on this game
I can say that this game gaslights you into thinking that it is good with a fake reward system and with 1 out of 15 actually fun runs(where your character has a balance between not being to op but isn't that weak either) the boss, the enemies and the items would work if it the game wasn't entirely based on luck or better said, the game cannot

I can compare the binding of isaac with a job or even to school, it will make you still keep playing in the hope that it will get fun somehow until you realize that it won't (another funny thing, most content creator for the binding of isaac use a TON of mods, this just proves that the game itself isn't that good on explaining itself nor trying to achieve a fun experience)
on the good side: good visuals, excellent music, descent story and also descent humor

If you love a good roguelike that has an incredibly dark theme to it, then The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a must-have, especially if you have never played the game before.

It’s The Binding of Isaac on your phone. That’s awesome. If you’ve had your fill with any of the other versions on almost every other video game platform imaginable, then you probably don’t need to check this one out — but otherwise, it’s definitely a good time.

The emergent gameplay is second-to-none, and the sheer number of secrets is massive. No game will give you more to find and discover than The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will. This could conceivably be the only game you play for the rest of the year, considering how much time you'd have to spend to be good at the game, and then unlocking everything there is to see in Rebirth. And it's a ton of fun along the way. It took a long time to get here, but enjoy this one, folks.
