Royal Revolt 2 is a good game, with consistent mechanics and pretty visuals, but some of its new features are not convincing and the freemium part is very limiting.

Fun yet sometimes frustratingly slowly paced, Royal Revolt 2 is a conflicting reverse tower defense game, and not one for those who despise freemium elements.

Royal Revolt II is fun, but not as fun as its predecessor. You can fight against other people and challenge them with your troops, but in order to actually win against the strongest opponents, you need to pay real money. While the game is completely playable totally free of charge, microtransactions are basically everywhere.

Royal Revolt 2 looks, sounds, and plays wonderfully. To get anywhere at an acceptable pace, though, you'll have to spend real money - and lots of it.

Attack defenses of real people. This provides a lot of variety. I enjoy making strategies based on the defense i am about to attack. Lots of gems easily available by winning tournaments. Even lucky chests after every fight provide opportunities to get some goodies. If you play longer, you become stronger. Joining an alliance (which is easy) makes it even more fun. I have been playing this game for many months and enjoying it. Just don't expect to be complete the game in few weeks. As you grow stronger, you can take on tougher opponents. It is your choice, whether you want to fight an opponent at your level, higher level or lower level. The reward is determined by how much unprotected gold is available with your opponent. The temporary boosts also change the dynamic. Those who can persist will enjoy the variety. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is designed to ask for your real money every few days for a healthy speed. Without the money, the game is excruciatingly frustratingly slow.

    Following are the pain points:
    1. The wins of gold is very less per battle, so that incoming amount is almost negligible to update highly costly updates (imagine like about 3 Million gold vs 15 million upgrade on every tower)
    2. The full points (cups) won for each win is only given if there's a victory.
    3. If not victory, the cups are heavily penalized. Even when you win , there may be cups in -ve!! So a win penalizes you, the loss often penalises by subtracting as high as 60 cups in one go, while the win may not give you more than 8 cups.
    4. The medals, another measure, is measly for each win (around 26- 29 for each game)
    5. too costly (in terms of gold) updates, and impossible to reach. Example: each win gives you around 50K gold (not counting bonus, which is just chancy), and each update costs 15 M approx (impossible to get).
    6. Game forces you to buy diamonds for everything- upgrading, playing, everything. You want to buy food, diamonds, speed up the development, diamonds. Gold does nothing but help you build the base, but the real currency is diamond.
    7. Extremely difficult to get "victory" status of win- so end up getting penalised every now and then.
    8. frustratingly long time taken for upgrades of buildings etc - more than 6 days even. They want you to buy diamonds to fasten up.

Extremely greedy creators. I will not recommend it to real players who love skill more than wallet.

The game isIf you hated the "Pay-to-Stop-Yourself-From-Getting-Frustrated" mechanics(like Dungeon Keeper for iOS), you will hate this game. The game is punishingly slow paced, which can be offset by spending real cash or by SPAMMING REQUESTS to your facebook friends. Once they run out, the real pain shows..

The game lets you save the names of upto 10 players, whom you can repeatedly attack for crowns. (There is a reason why CashOfClans and other online battle games dosnt allow saving names, to avoid harrassment, which Royal Revolt 2 is so blatantly allows) There are Youtube videos showing how to "bully" someone out of their money and earn crowns easily (and cheaply)...it all fun until some powerfull CASH PLAYER saves YOUR name and spams attack you till you bleed dry. After 5 attacks, there is a penalty, and they wont get much resource but once you login, the counter is reset and he can attack you like its the first time, without penalty.

So if you are someone who plays once or twice a day, get ready to be r@ped. The first game was single player based and you didn't need to spend real money to finish the game, and enjoy it. This is an online game, all the fun of the first game is gone...just be prepared to fall into the abyss of PAY TO WIN hell.
