Jan 13, 2016Overall this is a surprisingly well constructed game and nitpicks aside, you owe it to yourself to dig into the game and ask why aren't there more big name Poke-clones out there.
-
Jan 13, 2016It strikes a nice balance between making references to the show and being a somewhat simplified “Gotta Cath ‘Em All!” homage.
-
Apple'N'AppsJan 20, 2016Pocket Mortys delivers simple fun that anyone can enjoy making it well worth picking up.
-
Jan 14, 2016Equal parts homage to Pokemon and fan-service to Rick and Morty aficionados, this one is well worth a look.
-
Jan 25, 2016Pocket Mortys is a well done clone, packed with funny lines and characters, but also pretty repetitive and simplistic in its mechanics.
-
Jan 22, 2016If you can overlook the early game difficulty, Pocket Mortys is a freemium game that is never in your face about taking your money. With short rounds of gameplay and a lot of post-game activities, Pocket Mortys is well worth a download if you enjoy Pokemon and are slowing wasting away while waiting for the third season of Rick and Morty.
-
Jan 13, 2016Pocket Mortys, like many episodes of the show, is a true roller coaster. It has a lot of highs, a ton of lows, and that may not appeal to everyone. For me though, I feel like I got my money's worth, and it made the wait for the next season of the show (which still has no set premiere window) that much easier.

CD-ActionMar 30, 2016Provides a couple hours of genuine fun but if you have a portable device capable of running anything more complex than Pokémon Red/Blue, there’s no real reason to play Pocket Mortys. [03/2016, p.72]
-
Jan 12, 2016As licensed games go, Pocket Mortys cashes in on the Rick and Morty universe in ways clever enough to keep it from being a cynical money-grabbing disaster. It occasionally makes clever use of its source material through references and in-jokes, but all of the callbacks in the world don’t make up for mechanics that’re a pale shadow of Pokémon, without enough original ideas or even new comedy to make it into an experience capable of standing on its own.
-
Jan 21, 2016In the end, Pocket Mortys ends up being the video game equivalent of Pirates of the Pancreas: something that had the potential for an amazing ride, but is held back and never gets a chance to shine, doomed to wind up being talked about in unenthusiastic tones.
