-
Apr 17, 2014Hitman GO is one of those unique games that takes the name of a popular series, sticks it onto a game that is not at all similar to its namesake, and winds up being good.
-
Apr 17, 2014A smart and seductive reimagining of the Hitman franchise, Hitman GO scratching your barcoded bonce for hours trying to uncover its ingenious solutions.
-
Jun 30, 2014Hitman GO is a really great example of what a seasoned developer like Square Enix can do to reinvent an established franchise for a new platform. Rather than shoe-horn some clumsy 3D world onto a screen the size of a deck of cards, Square Enix took the clever route and crafted a unique Hitman experience built on the strengths of iOS.
-

-
May 5, 2014Hitman GO is a great puzzle game, with a unique visual style and a lot of brilliant contents. It manages to capture the essence of Agent 47, giving a fresh new touch to the series.
-
Apr 24, 2014A shining example of a mobile adaptation done right, Hitman Go's creators clearly understand both the essence of the franchise and the limitations of the platform. The resulting synthesis is nothing less than brilliant.
-
Apr 23, 2014Hitman GO is a clever and stylish work of alchemy, bringing elegant stealth mechanics to a new platform and a fresh genre.
-
Apr 21, 2014Hitman Go takes the boiled-down essence of the stealth genre and brilliantly translates it into a mobile puzzler that’s easy on the eyes and challenging on the brain.
-
Apr 17, 2014Hitman GO is not the obvious way to do a mobile version of the Hitman series, but it's an incredibly creative and fun game in the long-running franchise.
-
Pelit (Finland)Sep 3, 2014Agent 47's line of work translates surprisingly well into a board game. [Aug 2014]
-
Jun 19, 2014A well designed board game based on the Hitman series with slick graphics and turn based gameplay.
-
May 10, 2014Even though it's not a true Hitman game, the strategy concept works pretty well, and becomes and outstanding mobile experience that does not lose the soul of the franchise.
-
Apr 30, 2014Hitman Go is a brilliant example of how you have to transpose a famous IP on mobile devices. The gameplay is challenging and intriguing, and graphics are exactly something you can feast your eyes on.
-
Apr 25, 2014Square Enix Montreal has created a game in Hitman Go that avoids the trappings of so many other attempts to bring popular franchises to mobile devices—and the result is an experience that feels fresh, unique, and exciting from start to finish.
-
Apr 25, 2014I’m not much of a fan of the Hitman games for PC and consoles, but Hitman Go hits all the right notes for a mobile platform.
-
Apr 23, 2014Hitman Go is a smart and well-designed puzzle game that proves being an assassin can be fun, even in a meticulous, turn-based way.
-
Apr 24, 2014Hitman GO is not your ordinary mobile porting of a renowned franchise: instead of mocking the action of the console series, Square Enix decided to use Agent 47 skills in a sleek, clever and challenging strategic game.
-
Apr 23, 2014A fine, challenging puzzle game that offers both a new way of plying his dark trade and many levels on which to do it.
-
May 16, 2014Hitman starts on mobile platforms as a turn-based strategy game which will please both fans of the series and those gamers who haven't met Agent 47 yet. Its stylish execution goes hand in hand with debugged in-game system resulting in a title that will consume your time so unpleasantly fast whether you go to school or work.
-
May 7, 2014It's not perfect, and it certainly won't appeal to everyone, but if you're jonesing for your next taste of the life of an assassin, Hitman GO is the hippest way to emulate everyone's favorite sharp-dressed agent.
-
Apr 30, 2014Hitman Go's combination of darkly whimsical setup and deep understanding of the core of the mainline Hitman games results in a mobile title that seems uniquely aware of its place in a bigger picture. And it happens to be a great game to boot.
-
Apr 30, 2014Clever: With Go, Square Enix doesn’t try to emulate the cinematic action from PC or console, but instead worked out a clever design for touch controls that captures the spirit of Agent 47.
-
Apr 29, 2014Hitman Go is a (not-so-classic) board game, with a "stealth" twist coming from the original series. It's always clever and brilliant.
-
Apr 24, 2014As unassuming and stylish as the rest of the series is melodramatic and bombastic, Hitman Go is an impressive debut for Square Enix Montreal. The play style recalls the strategic thinking of the console/PC games, but does so with an entirely new style that fits touch-based devices like a fine leather glove.
-
Apr 24, 2014Hitman Go is a rare breed in mobile games because it doesn’t try to copy another popular title, or provide a lazy spin-off from its source material. In fact, it manages to take an existing license and apply it to an entirely new genre, whilst still managing to maintain the spirit of the original.
-
Apr 23, 2014Probably not what any fan had expected, this nifty little title holds its own far better than any direct port would have been able to. One of the biggest surprises of the year so far is a pleasant one.
-
Apr 22, 2014Hitman GO is far cleverer than it has any right to be, putting a refreshingly unconventional spin on the stealth genre.
-
Apple'N'AppsApr 19, 2014Hitman GO uses the pedigree to get people in the door, but the gameplay is what will keep them coming back, making it a should buy.
-
Apr 17, 2014Hitman GO is a smart and satisfying puzzle game, with loads of content and plenty of variation. It's also totally adorable.
-
May 19, 2014One target, sneaking, disguising, killing and getting out: all of it is in the stylish and strategic board game Hitman GO, but in a totally different way. A little bit weird, but it fits very well in the Hitman universe. The puzzles are fun and varied, but could've been a bit more challenging.
-
May 1, 2014It's not Agent 47's best performance, but as always, he gets the job done.
-
May 1, 2014Hitman Go is an exciting transformation of the original concept. It's both thrilling and amusing to assassinate through a Ludo like structure. The problem solving is often advanced, but on a few occasions it's very rudimentary. Luckily one doesn't necessarily remember those scenarios. All this, combined with the game's delightful design, is why Hitman Go is a great game.
-
Apr 30, 2014Hitman GO is a nice casual puzzler with plenty of challenge and beautiful visual design, but it didn’t really grab us. Maybe you’ll feel differently.
-
Apr 25, 2014Hitman GO might not be broad in its scope, it might be a relatively straightforward puzzle game at heart, but it's still clever, cute and creative in quite a few ways, so much so that I don't really want to spoil some of the surprises it introduces as you make progress. Perhaps most importantly, it's loyal to its forefathers by upholding the tradition that the best of the Hitman games have displayed: it makes killing a pleasure.
-
Apr 22, 2014A surprisingly successful mobile spin-off that uses the key elements of Hitman to good effect but remains perfectly playable to those new to the franchise.
-
Apr 17, 2014With a smart learning curve - it's still throwing new ideas at you well over 30 levels in - and an absolute barrel-load of content, I could call Hitman GO the surprise of the year. I'd only be doing that for hyperbole purposes, though. It's still pretty damn good.
-
Apr 29, 2014Hitman GO is not a boardgame nor a particularly compelling facsimile of one, beyond the tokens and the boards. But the game succeeds for sticking to the aesthetics of its inspiration, and moving on as the game and platform demands.
-
Hyper MagazineJun 7, 2014It's a game you'll often stumble through like a botched hit. [Issue#249, p.77]
-
Apr 29, 2014Agent 47 might have shed a few layers of decidedly hardcore mechanics and that leaves Hitman GO feeling a little misplaced.
-
Apr 22, 2014It's a fashionable example of something that isn't very interesting. The Hitman license is used here to good, if slightly limited, effect. It's just not enough to make me like something that a lot of players like myself finds fundamentally frustrating, and, moreover, just boring.
