Combining a respectful homage to its source material with a decent battle system and loads of unlockables, Final Fantasy: Record Keeper is the real deal in my book.

A solid game that was built for the different needs of mobile devices and modern gamers while embracing its past.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper proves that the free-to-play approach to a historical series like Final Fantasy can be made in a right way.

Even with its imperfections, Final Fantasy Record Keeper is a game you’ll gladly sink hours into as you fine-tune your party and play around with abilities and equipment.

A good and exciting way to live again the best and the most classic battles found in the history of that great saga titled Final Fantasy.

Probably the best Final Fantasy game on mobile and a good example of how to play fair with both nostalgia and free-to-play microtransactions.

Record Keeper isn’t offensive. It can sometimes be a little fun. But it’s not incredibly engaging.

But the nostalgia andThis is undoubtedly one of the best F2P games I've ever played. The only F2P part here is the equipment and all. But the nostalgia and characters are completely unlockable without any payment AT ALL. Now this is what I really really like about FFRK. You don't have to pay for the nostalgia. And I have to say that I'm already very hooked, and not even half of the content is even released yet! I'm still waiting for the release of my favorite characters, from Shadow, Galuf and Bartz, to Gilgamesh and Lightning. But the wait is truly worth it, as well as this F2P game. I really recommend this game to many others, because FFRK isn't all about the nostalgia and all that. It's also about the party members, the combat, and your strategies for beating the tough FF bosses. Expand

Fun, challenging, and loads of events. You don't have to spend a penny as mythril is easily gotten from every battle. I have every character up to date and all memory crystals for each one. You get to hear classic music and see characters as if they were 16 bit sprites. The problem comes with getting new weapons and limit breaks. You need to spend Mythril to get anything decent and even if you spend 50 at once to get 11 weapons and/or armor, there is no guarantee that you will get anything 5 star. I still can't get any of the Level 2 Cap Break Crystals because I don't have any good weapons or Limit Breaks. If they fix it to where the weapon gains are much more balanced in your favor, I can easily call this a fun time killer. If not, it is still fun but you don't get the full enjoyment of seeing all the cool Limit Break attacks. If you are a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, give it a look. I wouldn't spend any money on anything tho. Expand

As a mobile game it's ok. As a free mobile game it's pretty good. But that's just comparing it to mobile games. Reading the paid and homeAs a mobile game it's ok. As a free mobile game it's pretty good. But that's just comparing it to mobile games. Reading the paid and home reviews you'd think this was "the real deal" in terms of FF strategy titles for mobile devices. It isn't. It, like 99.9% of mobile games is as deep as a spit puddle designed for 10 minute play burst before coming a repetitive bore-fest.
But as that applies to just about all mobile games - and at least this one is free, then I suppose if we are just marking against it's peers in the handheld market. It deserves an average score. If this was a console or PC game It's get 1, maybe 2 at a push.

If this game wasn't called Final Fantasy, nobody would be playing it. The progression system clearly tries to make you spend money. AfterIf this game wasn't called Final Fantasy, nobody would be playing it. The progression system clearly tries to make you spend money. After spending 2 months saving resources and getting no 5 stars, you will desinstall this game and curse the developers.

Even as a mobile game, it falls short. It tries to use nostalgia against you to make you spend money on characters relics that you want with ''greater chances'' of getting them (greater chances = 1 %).
