He believes that going to the human world as a field reaper will enable him to one day meet her, so he's taken the job of making sure people die -- and taught himself to dance, in order to impress the love of his (un)life.

Since Felix only moves in the shadows, he needs to tread carefully through this strange world. Luckily, reapers like Felix are able to turn the sun and shift the shadows, creating the paths necessary to navigate the land of the living. He does so to solve puzzles and make sure people die according to ministerial plans.

Each level unlocks a hardcore version of itself for the motivated ministerial go-getter. You can also collect skull achievements that further unlock bonus time trials for the most resourceful employees.

Right from the start Felix the Reaper makes three promises: There will be dark comedy, there will be shadow puzzles, and there will be dancing skeletons. It delivers on all three. The humour is black, the puzzles are interesting, and Felix’s dance moves are excellent, if somewhat mistimed. This is clearly a labour of love, and that love shows through clearly. Unfortunately, it was not evenly distributed, and the rough patches make themselves known rather quickly. Nevertheless, I would encourage you, oh reader mine, to give it a shot. Watch some gameplay, read a few reviews—it could be just the game for you!

Felix the Reaper oozes style and charm and its basic ideas around the puzzle design are very interesting, but the overall result is not quite worthy of its aesthetics and concept.

Felix the Reaper invites players into this rich, quirky, and tragically romantic world of hilarious deaths and bop-your-head-to-the-beat dance moves, but ultimately falls short on creating a more compelling gaming experience. Dive into it for a puzzle or two a day, but it’s not something you’ll likely be absorbed into from the get-go.

Felix moves beautifully, and the game’s narrated by the eternally sonorous Patrick Stewart, but it suffers from a patchy difficulty level, supplying five-ish hours of mildly frustrating and often repetitive puzzling.
