    Dragon Age 8 has never looked better! The screen format is kinds strange, but it does not take long to get use to it and it works well enough. The touch controls are surprisingly solid, but sometimes you have to fight with the camera a bit. As for the gameplay... its just as good as the old PS2 version but it looks way better on the Retina screen of the iPad    Reviewed on the iPad Mini 2.

    Because of the weird screen format, touch controls not as good as a gamepad, and they took out all the voice acting, I give this iteration of DQ8 a solid 8 out of 10.    … Expand

    Without the weight of tradition behind it, flattening out your finger hitting “Fight wisely” just feels like cow-clicking. Personally, I’d rather spend that time elsewhere.

    If you happen to have fond memories of mid-aught nights spent exploring green fields and fighting whimsical fantasy creatures – and you don’t mind learning to cope with a crappy camera and frustrating navigation – then by all means, spend away. There’s still a good, lengthy, old-school RPG buried under all the problems introduced by this iOS edition.
