The game is fun, really fun, for a few days. And then the paywalls start to hit. And then I look at the game shop, and I'm shocked by the ridiculous prices and the insane amount for stuff for sale. And then I see a video of a guy spending almost $4k without getting a single 5-star legendary gem, and I read reports that it would cost a minimum of $100k to get a maxed-out character, and that you would have to play for hours a day, every day, for decades to try and max out a character without paying. And there are videos of free-to-play gamers getting destroyed in PvP while going up against whales who paid thousands for good gems.

I'd have been happy to play this game if it just had the $5 monthly battle pass. $5/month is fair to play a modern, balanced, mobile MMO Diablo game. This is not that game. This is a game clearly designed to lure you in, get you addicted, and then frustrate you into paying big money to compete.

And on top of all of this, Blizzard is flat-out lying and claiming that the game has no pay-to-win elements. Heck, one of the bigger clans in the game is called "PaytoWinLords", or something like that. You're not fooling us, Blizzard. Your players are smarter than you think.

What a disappointment. There's a good game buried under the monetization. But I'm not going to pay to dig it up. I'll wait for Diablo 4 and hope to God that the transactions in that game are for cosmetics only.

Legislators really need to pay attention to this and put a stop to it. Expand

I don't want to spend thousands of dollars to play a game. Either charge us for the game up front, or do a monthly subscription. Don't hide the game behind thousands of pay walls.

This game intends to end inflation. How? Rich billionaires who intend to profit from this madness by gobbling up as much money and keeping it in their banks. Because of this, less money will be in circulation and the value of the dollar should go up.

That's how bad the monetization is in this game. With record-high prices in the grocery store, gas prices, etc it is some incredible arrogance to use such a well-respected IP to extract additional money out of fans of this franchise.

They ruined an amazing series with micro transactions that run $100K+ to max out a character. Avoid this game at all costs!

2-3 days and the fun is gone. Monetisation in this “game” is unbelievable. After Diablo immortal, even Genshin impact looks healthy.

8 days got me to end game 60+ paragon
ENTIRE end game is a 25 dollar loot box softly disguised as a Rift mini game. Rift with paid legendary crests uncapped by design. This is not fun, this is just me opening wallet for no reason. Entire game is reduced to a randomized guaranteed loot surprise mechanic idiocracy. I hope they get sued.

The only good thing about Diablo Immoral is that it led me to find this website where I could see how corrupted the “Official Reviewers” are.

A 0.5 score from players but a 75% overall from the professionals. Duck that and duck this piece of trash “game.”

I feel sorry for the creative artists and developers behind this game. They put their heart and countless of hours into realising what could have been a major step forward for mobile gaming, only to have their efforts poisoned by money-heads dictating the game's toxic and predatory monetisation scheme. The game does not actually deserve a 0 rating my opinion. It is fun to play, looks goodI feel sorry for the creative artists and developers behind this game. But as it stands, the only way for us to send a clear signal is to rate it down regardless of what good can be found in the game. Graphics are worse then diablo3, gameplay is a copy paste of diablo 3, but is built up with hugh amounts of macro transactions and scummy gammbling based techniques to make you spend more. Latest estimates are upwards of $200000 to make 1 character.

Nothing but a cash grab, what a hoax of a game. Fun for a couple/few hours, then you get in to the pay to advance part of the game. If you want to be competitive, plan to have $10k to flush down the drain.

Made my account to review. I'm very familiar with the psychological affects games like this can have on players. This one is the most predatory I've ever seen. Diablo "Immoral" is NOT the Diablo experience you're looking for. Go back to the originals (or better yet, don't give Activision/Blizzard your money after all the crap they've pulled the last 5 years.)

If you're the type who likes gambling or randomized loot mechanics, if you're highly competitive, if you typically feel like you "have" to get the best gear, or if you've ever regretted spending too much on microtransactions, STAY AWAY. You will spend more on 1s and 0s in this cell phone game than you did last Christmas on your entire family (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc). Don't encourage companies to publish these disgustingly predatory games. Like a vampire, they will suck you dry without even a "thank you." You are not a valued customer to them. You are a source of revenue to be exploited.

Blizzard has turned a beloved franchise into a spending contest using known psychological gambling hooks. Those "whales" spending $100s of thousands aren't Saudi princes they are vulnerable people being robbed. This predatory monetization should be illegal and hopefully soon will be. Well done Blizzard. I wish there was a score lower than zero. Idiots.

I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game. To see it submit to mobile gaming's worst tendencies, rather than make any effort to be different, to be better, is galling. It may be flashy and efficient as both a Diablo game and a mobile game, but Immortal offers little that is bold, ambitious or innovative. Instead, its structure and pacing is designed with one goal in mind: to squeeze as much cash out of every player as it can. [Issue#374, p.110]

It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
