Shockingly bad... I mean this is an absolute joke. This "game" should be regarded as one of the biggest examples why this disgusting business model should banned worldwide, instead of only Belgium and Netherlands. I really hope for everyone's benefit that it finally does.

$100,000 to complete the game? You can buy a house a car for that... That means that if you (hopefully not) spend

That means that if you (hopefully not) spend $100....$1,000.....$5,000......$10,000....$50,000!! you're going to have a mediocre, sub-par character....that is not good enough to compete. These are unimaginable amounts of money, and I can only suggest that the other reviewers are completely correct in that this is just a late April Fool's Joke.

Constant nagging to pay money, like constantly shoving it in your face, breaking the immersion completely. It's like one of those rogue apps on the store made by a shady company to steal everything they can from you with no remorse.

Blizzard have destroyed the great reputation they once had. They messed up badly with the auction house in D3, but had the sense to remove it. They have not learned from their mistake.

I think you've just about lost all of your hardcore fans now Blizzard, you should be absolutely ashamed as a company, as I'm sure MANY of your employees are.

Avoid like the plague, seriously... this game is toxic.

I’m talking over $100,000 to max out your gear, and that’s if you’re lucky, which some who have already spend that much were not, and these are documented cases. The fact they released this game to prey on addictions of many gamers and gamblers is simply atrocious, the game should honestly be banned. Expand

    Dear Blizzard,

Please wake up. How can Riot Game be so successful while selling mostly cosmetic related stuffs but you keep deceiving your fanbase with these predatory business practices?

    What a shame.

Somewhere behind the microtransactions, lootboxes and daily rewards there might be a game. The story was actually not bad but I could only stand the constant nagging until lvl50. Uninstalled it because I clearly don't need to kill Diablo, Blizzard has already done that for me.

i hope that this 0 contributes to the downfall of blizzard as a company. The game is fine i guess but the cash shop is not. I have not even played the game and i will never try it as long as it has a shop that drops random loot and lets you spend over 100k just to be competative.

PAY2WIN SCAM ALERT!!!! SHAME!!!! the game itself is actually not bad but the microtransactions kill everything about it. I was hoping for microtransactions to be for cosmetic upgrades that dont affect gameplay advantage but we were LIED to again from blizzard.

I have played this game for 10 hours and figured it's a pay-to-win game. This kind of pay-to-win strategy is not new, NetEase Games has been doing it in China with another big IP title: Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. Although different in gameplay style, both games share the exactly same monetization strategy. I would love to pay 200 bucks for a really innovative and fun game, but not gambling items just to keep up with the ladder. The industry won't change if we keep allowing bad games to be profitable. I would rather pay exponentially more for a well-designed game instead of paying 99 cents to a **** game. Expand

Disgusting microtransactions, not only cosmetics but literal pay to win. Almost all character power is tied to a predatory system designed to make people pay. Endgame content tied to the same pay to win system so you won`t even be able to play all content as a free to play player. Drastic changes are needed to keep the players engaged. The power gap between paying and non paying people will become even bigger in the future. An overall shame to the company, but also somehow expected. Expand

I was very skeptical about the game since announcement, but went ahead and downloaded it on my phone. Graphically it looks nice but the gameplay is very shallow compared to Diablo 3 which is what it made me wish I was playing. Why I gave this a 0 though is due to the constant microtransaction nonsense and how you cannot get ahead without spending real money on it. To see the gaming titan of my childhood tarnish the esteemed name of Diablo is truly saddening. Diablo-like was used for decades to describe the action rpg genre (similar to Doom-like until fps was coined). To have it minimized to the lowest common denominator and contain all of the toxic and abusive cash grab tactics of our time is a slap in the face.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. From someone that grew playing D1 and D2 it sickens me to see what they did to the franchise. Path of Exile is releasing a mobile version with cosmetic shop only. So beeing a mobile game is not as excuse. This is the lowest Blizzard could get. Shame on all of you, have some respect Expand

Diablo Immortal is not the first game to do this, and I honestly don’t care if people want to spend their money in whatever way they decide. However, these types of business practices are ruining my favorite hobby: gaming. I don’t have any issues playing this game for fun with friends and not spending a penny, but so many people fall prey to this manipulation. It is unfortunate that this is the manner in which companies feel they need to move in to make money. It’s not. This is just flat out greedy. This is one of my most beloved IPs and I certainly hope there will be ZERO signs of this practice in Diablo 4. If not, I will never purchase another product of Activision Blizzard again and that’s final. There has to be a line, and for me this is it. Plenty of other great gaming companies and games out there these days. Expand

I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game. To see it submit to mobile gaming's worst tendencies, rather than make any effort to be different, to be better, is galling. It may be flashy and efficient as both a Diablo game and a mobile game, but Immortal offers little that is bold, ambitious or innovative. Instead, its structure and pacing is designed with one goal in mind: to squeeze as much cash out of every player as it can. [Issue#374, p.110]

It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
