Assassin’s Creed Pirates isn’t some cash in on Assassin’s Creed 4, it is a damn good game that stands right up on its own. It is epic, engaging, and most of all fun. It doesn’t wear out its welcome with bloated mechanics or unnecessary plot. It distills the essence of what we loved about the naval battles and puts it at your fingertips.

Stepping away from the path of the main series, Ubisoft brings a complete mobile game that looks great and plays better, and becomes a good choice no matter if you’re looking for a complementary experience for AC IV or an individual one.

Assassin's Creed Pirates is surprisingly addictive, with its cool battles and all its side-missions that let you upgrade your ship.

Want to wreak havoc all over the high seas? Then Assassin's Creed Pirates is a great way to do so, Assassin's Creed fan or not.

The story is interesting and moderately compelling, and lasts a decent amount of time to boot. The missions can feel a little bit easy and overly repetitive, but when you’re just playing it in 30 – 60 minute chunks, it doesn’t feel as bad as it otherwise might.

Assassin's Creed Pirates is overall a nice, sometimes questionable spin-off for the main series, based on the naval battles and explorations.

Assassin's Creed: Pirates is a very silly game, but it's a great distraction if you're left wanting more after Black Flag. With a host of content, tons of customization and fast-paced combat, there's hardly a dull moment in Pirates. The fact that there's no money-grubbing microtransactions to ruin the experience is the cherry on top.

Assassin’s Creed: Pirates is a sharp-looking collection of pirate-themed activities that never quite becomes more than the sum of its parts.

A unique new approach for the classic Ubisoft saga designed exclusively for iOS and Android systems. Good fun and intuitive controls.

Fantastic graphics as showcased in the screenshot. Real breakthrough for a mobile game, a step ahead after Infinity Blade 3. But the gameFantastic graphics as showcased in the screenshot. Real breakthrough for a mobile game, a step ahead after Infinity Blade 3. But the game itself is just great. As a "moderate" AC fan, I found this mobile spin-off clever and tremendous, with a highly entertaining naval combat gameplay. The storyline is very catchy, faithful to the AC semi-realistic tone. In a nutshell, great adventure as few (if any) other mobile games offer. And an wonderful open-world to explore, with easy hop-on, hop off, either to follow the main story or launch any side mission.
Only hope is that Ubisoft will keep this game growing with updates and additions. It deserves it.

Essentially just a mobile port of Assassin's Creed 4 with a few different features. Need I say anything else?
