Mar 27, 2014Archangel brings some fresh ideas to the well-worn action-RPG genre, enabling it to mark out some territory all of its own while remaining good fun. Black Tower Studios should be commended for taking a risk and trying something new.
-
Jan 14, 2014Archangel is slow to get started, but after gaining some abilities and spells the pace of combat picks up for a satisfying and long-lasting dungeon crawler.
-
Jan 9, 2014Unity Games' Archangel is great for those who love the grind of a great looking dungeon-crawler but feels as though it takes a while to truly get going.
-
Feb 3, 2014Archangel is a okay game for the mobile, but it’s too short, repetitive and will eventually be forgotten. A shame, because you can have a lot of fun with this RPG for two euro’s.
-
Jan 15, 2014While lacking the depth and visual diversity of its desktop counterparts, Archangel is a fun touch screen take on the action RPG.
-
Jan 14, 2014Archangel is a good Hack & Slash for mobile devices that maybe will not be a milestone in its genre but will offer hours of fun for those looking for some action on their mobile devices.
-
Jan 10, 2014Archangel is a well-crafted dungeon-crawler with a handful of nice touches, but it could use a little more spark and imagination in its world design and core gameplay.
-
Jan 28, 2014Archangel delivers a charming, visually stunning action RPG experience, but it fails to deliver due to an unfortunate mix of RTS controls and level design.
-
Jan 15, 2014It’s a decent title, but unfortunately, it never reaches the angelic heights of fun that were promised.
-
Mar 6, 2014There's no denying that Archangel is pretty, but in every other way it's a case of unfulfilled potential.
-
Feb 6, 2014Archangel takes several innovative steps towards making the dungeon-crawler viable for phones and tablets, including cloud saving for play on multiple devices, but ultimately it’s just a pale, pale shadow of what the likes of Diablo 3, Torchlight 2 and even the free-to-play Path Of Exile are capable of doing on the PC.
-
Jan 15, 2014There’s just too much silliness to suffer through to dig into the parts of Archangel that are good. This is one of a wave of titles showing how pretty mobile games can look on up-to-date hardware, but the beauty is definitely only skin deep. Gameplay matters, even on phones and tablets.
