I really don't understand why anyone would rate this game well. Maybe because it's from Unity and they're chummy with a lot of people in mobile gaming. Maybe because it's from Unity and they're chummy with a lot of people in mobile gaming. Based on its own merits, this game is terrible. Even after you learn more skills it's still the same, boring and repetitive tripe. The characters are stiff, the combat uninspired, there's no sense of exploration or adventure and the so called "loot" system feels tacked on and cheap. All the skills are just learned from going to new levels so there's no sense whatsoever that you're actually building and improving your character. It was a struggle for me just to get far enough in that I felt comfortable posting a review on here. It shouldn't be necessary to force yourself to play a gene until it "picks up" anyway, not that this ever does. Just plain bad and a waste of money- deleted. Expand

Been at it for a good few hours now! Initially it's a little slow but once you learn all your spells it's a frantic gaming experience! I negated a point for the slow start. Otherwise I really really am enjoying it!

Archangel brings some fresh ideas to the well-worn action-RPG genre, enabling it to mark out some territory all of its own while remaining good fun. Black Tower Studios should be commended for taking a risk and trying something new.

There's no denying that Archangel is pretty, but in every other way it's a case of unfulfilled potential.

Archangel takes several innovative steps towards making the dungeon-crawler viable for phones and tablets, including cloud saving for play on multiple devices, but ultimately it’s just a pale, pale shadow of what the likes of Diablo 3, Torchlight 2 and even the free-to-play Path Of Exile are capable of doing on the PC.
