  1. If you liked "Mario Golf," you'll love Ribbit King. There's not much depth, but there's more than enough charm and fun to make it worth your twenty bucks.
  2. It may not be a technical marvel or something that will keep you occupied for days on end (it's best played in 30-minute bursts, in my opinion), but it's hard to deny the energy and enthusiasm the game brings with its off-kilter PaRappa-style characters, a kooky sense of humor, and the welcoming playability that developer Jamworks has packed onto the disc.

    Seriously silly. [Aug 2004, p.122]
  4. After the novelty is gone, it's an adequate, if goofy, golf title with passable technical execution. [June 2004, p.123]

It’s a whole different ball (well, frog) game when a human player sneaks in a huge round or even a Frog-In-One rather than watch the AI do it time and time again in the main game – when the playing field is obviously even, there’s much more fun to be had. [Oct 2004, p.107]
  6. Both a unique and amusing game, but not everyone is up for the amount of time it takes to actually complete a game.
  7. But after a while, hitting frogs just doesn't fufill the same amount of happiness that it did when you started.

It would be nice if it were a little deeper or offered a few more ways to play, but we’d recommend anyone looking for some light and wacky sports action to look no further than Ribbit King.

Mind numbing. My main complaints are that there's too much dead time -- where you're forced to watch animations you've seen countless times again and again (there's no way to skip them) and the game is a lot more about luck than it is skill. It's also not fun to play (not a good thing).
  10. Cheat Code Central

It's fun for a time while you experience all its unique aspects but the Well of Fun begins to run dry after the first hour.
  11. So we’ve got a pretty original concept, executed in a completely uninspired and unoriginal way.
