Nintendo PowerIt doesn't add a whole lot to the fighting genre, but it's a rewarding game with a well-tuned fighting system and loads of replay value. [May 2006, p.91]
-
It allows fans of the series to play as their favourite shinobi warriors and do it in style. After extensive time with the 2-player mode, it becomes pretty obvious that the game is geared more towards button-mashers, but, if you're a big Naruto fan, this game is for you.
-
The game won't keep you in terms of any kind of longevity, but it's an engaging enough fighter to keep you busy until the next hot GameCube title comes tumbling into stores.
-
Naruto: Clash of Ninja is a pretty fun game that would have been a lot better with more depth in the fighting controls.
-
Naruto: Clash of Ninja has very little to offer as a fighting game, but there's a decent amount of fun to be had for those who appreciate the license.
-
Fans will appreciate the good-looking characters and hard-hitting attacks, but Clash of Ninja is an experience cut short by a pervasive lack of depth.
-
Play MagazineThere's enough to unlock to keep young fans engaged but I was hoping for more TM Naruto action. [May 2006, p.54]
-
For us older fans (especially those raised on the fansubs) and people with even a tiny knowledge of how fighting games work, one shouldn't even bother giving this a second look.
-
Though this game does manage to shine in some aspects of the presentation, the actual gameplay doesn't manage to pass higher than ordinary.
-
In the end there is not too much substance for the game. It is pretty fun, and even easy enough to pick up and play.
