Aug 12, 2018Holy crap, this is the best Mario Tennis, no, THE best tennis game in general. Everybody buy this game right now and you will have tons of fun.

Nov 4, 2016This game was worth my 15 dollars. The graphics are shiny and the gameplay is fast and improved on the 2 games before it. Why is this game hated for is my question?

TheoG.Nov 10, 2004Really good character design - all are different and have complementary strengths and weaknesses, not to mention really unique styles of movement so the difference between Boo and Waluigi is felt in the controller. GREAT party / drinking game.

PedroR.Sep 10, 2006Unlimited fun! As it happens with every super mario feature (like super mario strikers, super smash brothers melee, mario party and more we all know about)

DanK.Nov 10, 2004Really great and addictive, specail move cutscenes get annoying and game can be a little repetitive.

[Anonymous]Nov 28, 2004I was a big fan of the n64 version of mario tennis, but this one blows it away.

Jul 3, 2021They really gave a lot of attention to this game. Every character has his animations, the intro is great and I love the bloopers, too. This kind of things miss in the new games. The gameplay is great. What I don't love are the special shots. They are just... too random. Mini games are very good, too. It's a game that you will play for a lot of time.

GMR MagazineMPT may not reinvent the game, but it definitely whacks it up enough to warrant a revisit. [Jan 2005, p.120]

Compared to "Virtua Tennis," the undisputed king of the tennis franchises around here, Mario Power Tennis is a bit fuzzier and more forgiving in every respect, but, unless you turn them off, the power shots shift the dynamic in quite a different direction.
