-
Its wicked bloody fun with a group even with the slight detractors.
-
A great game for gamers looking for simple action, a good mix of enemies, and steady progression through the game.
-
A short but enjoyable hack and slash romp that is even more enjoyable when played with friends.
-
For those five or six hours, the game is quite fun, especially when playing with other people and using teamwork to mow down the zombie hordes.
-
It's dripping with blood. Actually, it's submerged in a tank overflowing with bodily fluids, detached limbs, and severed heads. Saucy!
-
While the single-player campaign can turn out to be fairly boring and uninspiring, the real value this game offers is in multiplayer.
-
If you dont mind gathering up three friends, and you dont mind leaving your brains at the door, youll be in store for a decent multiplayer hack and slash. The lack of replay value other than for multiplayer and the uninteresting single player make this game only for those who love all that is Gauntlet-styled.
-
The games endless top-down horde-shooting and limb-hacking is an absolute blast with four people (the five characters complement each other well), but the friendless may find Hunting and Reckoning to be a lonely, repetitious profession.
-
In the process of porting it, visual and sound quality has taken a dive, which is very disappointing. Of course all the four-player madness is still great fun.
-
Nintendo PowerThe camera stays above the characters, resulting in Gauntlet-style game play. [Feb 2003, p.157]
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyEven within this genre, we should've gotten a bullet-packed, blow-everything-to-hell experience like teh arcade classic "Smash TV." Instead, we get Nick at Night reruns of the "Golden Girls." [Feb 2003, p.144]
-
Cheat Code CentralBe smart, rent this game when you need it, play the hell out of it, wipe the blood off and return it like nothing happened.
-
Play MagazineThe bosses are cool and Hunter has an expectedly grimy, dark edge, but it looked and felt better on Xbox. [Jan 2003, p.81]
