I'd like to see Zed Two possibly do some sort of follow-up and expand somewhat on the alien variety and aiming controls and add even more mission types and locations. At twenty bucks, any and all console SRPG fans should run out and give Future Tactics: The Uprising a try.
-
A breath of fresh air for me, breaking away from genre conventions and striking out in interesting directions.
-
One of the most entertaining games I have played in a long time.
-
It has some decent ideas and concepts, let down by bad enemy A.I. and very repetitive gameplay.
-
As an example of unabashed, often exuberant Britsoft that pulls out the SRPG's staples and rebinds it in approachable ease, Future Tactics is remarkable, deserving of cult status. [Aug 2004, p.99]
-
By cutting down or even eliminating the essential RPG elements the fans will lose their interest quickly, while the action addicts will not appreciate the turn-based system.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyOstensibly a real-time strategy title, Future Tactics is really a glorified game of hide-and-seek: You either fall into your enemy's sights or manage to luck out for another turn. [July 2004, p.94]
