Despite some nice features, the overly repetitive gameplay will probably wear thin after a bit.
-
A good third-person action game that's pretty straightforward but has a few nice twists.
-
While BloodRayne suffers from a lack of originality and has some definite camera issues, the game play makes up for it by busting out with some dynamic game play elements, weapons, and controls.
-
Game InformerI couldn't get over the amateurish production values, camera bugs, and shallow camera controls. [Dec 2002, p.70]
-
It's not the deepest game out there; in fact, it has almost no depth whatsoever. It's all about violence and action, and fortunately for BloodRayne it is successful in delivering some good action.
-
Sure the FMVs look incredible and unnecessarily violent, but there aren't enough of them.
-
The most adult themed game yet to reach consoles. It features loads of mutilation, blood and gore, accompanied with lots of bad language, none of which is bleeped. In short, this isn't one for the kiddies.
-
The slick character design and brutal gameplay should be praised. However, stiff animation and chunky battle controls prevent this game from getting [an 80].
-
Nintendo PowerWhen she fills her bloodlust meter, she can kick into Blood Rage Mode - that's when the action really gets fierce. [Dec 2002, p.220]
