Terrible graphics and a weird battle system, most likely reviewed well based on a lack of competition in the RPG category on the Cube.

Besides the good art and music, this game is **** The battle system is the worst in any RPG I've played, having to rely on cards that are randomly chosen by RNG, and items decay after so much time in-game, and become useless or harmful. Crap plot, terrible characters and voice acting. I don't know why so many people like this turd of a game.

An enchanting tapestry of stylistic design, a deep and unconventional battle system, and fifty hours-plus of rewarding game play.
  3. While the story and characters are unfortunately very weak, Baten Kaitos is easy to recommend to anyone looking for an RPG that focuses strongly on gameplay rather than storytelling.
