Despite only having six main stages, THPS 3 is a game that will last for a surprisingly long time.
  2. 96
The game is tighter, longer, and more challenging than its predecessor, with more elements to enjoy, both in single and multiplayer modes.
  3. From the texturized polygons on the characters for extra realism to the bone crunching sound effects, this game simply delivers everything you could ever want in a game, including a multiplayer mode.
  4. "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2" used to be the must-own action sports game for the Game Boy Advance. Meet the new titleholder.
  5. Although the game is much like Tony Hawk 2, overall this makes the better total package, and the addition of the multiplayer alone makes it worth getting.

The ability to unlock new boards and edit the tricks and stats of all 13 real-world skaters also adds great replay value. [Summer 2002, p.26]
  7. It's Tony's finest handheld outing yet. The new levels, improved graphics and hassle-free multi-player mode make Hawk a half-pipe hero. [GamesMaster]
  8. Even if you already own the GBA version of THPS2 go out and buy this terrific title that more than does justice to the long lineage of Pro Skating greatness that has preceded it.
  9. 92
What's most important, though, is that the classic, exciting Tony Hawk gameplay is still very much in evidence. Taken in its own right as a GBA game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 soars high.
  10. Balanced and refined with plenty of time having been devoted to the game mechanics and design everything is just immensely enjoyable.
  11. Although they did add some great things to Tony Hawk 3 for Game Boy Advance, it’s essentially the same game.
  12. Another fantastic game from the masters of extreme sports.

The gameplay is thoroughly engaging. [Apr 2002, p.89]
  14. It's got some of the better features of THPS3 for the PS2 and X-Box thrown in, and plays well.
  15. Nintendo Power

A remarkable 3-D achievement and more features than ever. [Mar 2002, p.135]
  16. What was already basically perfect from last generation’s standards, this gets better.
  17. This will give you at least 30 hours of gameplay if you're a Tony Hawk enthusiast. If you're strictly 100% polygons, stay away and grab the Cube version, otherwise grab this and THPS4 too.
  18. Electronic Gaming Monthly

You'll get plenty of quick-fun fixes from just free-skating around and linking tricks. [May 2002, p.115]
  19. GMR Magazine

It's amazing how they managed to cram Tony Hawk into a cartridge, while keeping the essence of the game true to the console version. [Feb 2003, p.97]

The complex environments from the console games are here, but the small size kills the visual detail, and the 3/4-overhead perspective makes those levels much harder to navigate.
