    As shocking as it may sound, the combat in the GBA version of TMNT is even deeper than it is in any of the other versions. On the surface, it's a mash-the-attack-button affair, but after a few minutes of play I began to see little contextual nuances that provided a wealth of variety.

Instead, it's a pure, fast-paced brawler that lets you go wild beating on bad guys and bosses with a healthy variety of exaggerated martial arts moves. And, thanks to the eye-popping graphics and catchy audio, the game is as much fun to see and hear as it is to play.

    In a surprise twist, the Game Boy Advance TMNT is vastly superior to its mediocre console counterpart. Instead of shoehorning the same adventure onto the limited GBA, Ubisoft created an entirely new game, one based on the classic, side scrolling Turtles games from the NES and SNES days.

    TMNT's GBA version somehow holds up to this day, which is amazing considering how hard it is to find a rom or physical copy. Although short, the GBA release has a lot to offer in terms of replayability, including multiple achievements, challenges, and items(which are rarely used)that modify the experience. The combat is one of my favorite things, since you can press B in a sort of pattern to do infinite combo. If you play the game normally, then the combat system is pretty amazing, with movement being one of the best parts of this system. A double press in left or right make a roll, a jump+A does an air kick (but b can also be used to make a slightly different air kick), and a jump against the wall can be done as long as you have the skill from one of the shops. Another thing you can do is buy stat modifiers that make combos stronger, faster, your defense better, or add more stanima. This game is just really fun, only being held back by the constraints of being a movie game.… Expand
