It's a Metroidvania-style game with a decent-sized map. There are shortcuts to help reduce travel time between different areas, which are useful as the game requires you to backtrack frequently as you acquire new items and skills. The sprites in the game, particularly for Jack, nicely capture the look of the animated series. But the overall aesthetic of the game feels a little spare. It’s got the minimalism of the series but none of the artistry. The gameplay sometimes felt needlessly repetitive (so many spiders to kill in the first few stages) and the story was spread quite thin. Still, it was worth a play and offers some decent entertainment value. And it’s got that infectious theme song! Full Review »
