There is a ton of stuff to uncover in this latest game, and the only thing they didn't include was any type of bonus for linking to the GameCube version of Mortal Kombat.
-
One cool thing about this game is that, for owners of Deadly Alliance, you can hook up with this game and go head to head with a friend.
-
Pocket GamesAll of the new multi-player options are the best reason to pick this one up. If you have one or more friends to link-up with, you're in for a great time. [Fall 2003, p.49]
-
The focus on adding features -- both for single as well as multiple players -- keeps the design exciting and fun.
-
Aside from all the juicy extras and great multiplayer features, Midway is still able to showcase some really solid fighting action that translates well on the GBA. If youre a fan of the genre you can't go wrong with this one.
-
The sheer number of gameplay modes the cart brings to the handheld keeps the action fresh whether you're tackling the forces of evil or just your buddy.
-
Game InformerAll around, it's the same great handheld fighter with a host of much-needed and superfluous enhancements. [Aug 2003, p.104]
-
The best portable version of Mortal Kombat to date.
-
A good fighting game that offers a good variety of attacks and reversals, but the real stars are still the blood and fatality moves you'll see during each match.
-
Nintendo PowerThe animation is a little choppy and the graphics are often pixelated, but the action is nonstop and the play control is tight and responsive. [Sept 2003, p.139]
-
Good fighting, awesome link up features, and incentives to keep playing, it's just not Mortal Kombat.
-
If you already own "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance" for the Game Boy Advance, then consider this the strictly optional, backwards-compatible 2.0 version.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe controls are sluggish, and combos are difficult to pull off because of the GBA's tiny directional pad. [Sept 2003, p.134]
-
GameNowWhat sort of waste of time is this vulgar mediocrity? [Sept 2003, p.55]
