  1. There is a ton of stuff to uncover in this latest game, and the only thing they didn't include was any type of bonus for linking to the GameCube version of Mortal Kombat.
  2. One cool thing about this game is that, for owners of Deadly Alliance, you can hook up with this game and go head to head with a friend.
  3. Pocket Games

All of the new multi-player options are the best reason to pick this one up. If you have one or more friends to link-up with, you're in for a great time. [Fall 2003, p.49]
  4. 85
The focus on adding features -- both for single as well as multiple players -- keeps the design exciting and fun.
  5. Aside from all the juicy extras and great multiplayer features, Midway is still able to showcase some really solid fighting action that translates well on the GBA. If you’re a fan of the genre you can't go wrong with this one.
  6. 85
The sheer number of gameplay modes the cart brings to the handheld keeps the action fresh whether you're tackling the forces of evil or just your buddy.
  7. Game Informer
    83
All around, it's the same great handheld fighter with a host of much-needed and superfluous enhancements. [Aug 2003, p.104]
  8. The best portable version of Mortal Kombat to date.
  9. A good fighting game that offers a good variety of attacks and reversals, but the real stars are still the blood and fatality moves you'll see during each match.
  10. Nintendo Power
    66
The animation is a little choppy and the graphics are often pixelated, but the action is nonstop and the play control is tight and responsive. [Sept 2003, p.139]
  11. Good fighting, awesome link up features, and incentives to keep playing, it's just not Mortal Kombat.
  12. 60
If you already own "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance" for the Game Boy Advance, then consider this the strictly optional, backwards-compatible 2.0 version.
  13. Electronic Gaming Monthly
    45
The controls are sluggish, and combos are difficult to pull off because of the GBA's tiny directional pad. [Sept 2003, p.134]
  14. GameNow
    42
What sort of waste of time is this vulgar mediocrity? [Sept 2003, p.55]

While klunky and unwieldy at times, This game packs enough kontent and kuality gameplay to make up for most of its issues.
