The Game Boy Advance version of Midnight Club: Street Racing is as well made as unecessary.
Despite the fact you can see they clearly poured some efforts into making this version of the game, there's little to none point in playing it, since it plays as a top-view "driving" game with literally nothing to do if not driving around two boring and uninspired maps without anything else to do.

  1. Falls closer to mediocrity than it does greatness. The basic gameplay is sound enough -– the screen scrolls very quickly and the controls are responsive, but after a few plays you'll notice that the cars all follow the same pattern and this is one of many flaws in the overall AI.

A decent if not repetitve drive. [Mar 2002, p.137]
  3. There is no solid gameplay to back up what is, at the onset, a graphically engaging 2D engine, complete with special effects.
