  1. The lively graphics, the varied feel for each level, and the gameplay was enough to hold my interest levels and I would imagine keep other people, particular the younger generation interested in continuing as well.

An amusing and colorful platformer that simply offers younger gamers a good time. There are no life lessons here, just a good, fun adventure.
  3. Garfield and his Nine Lives offers a simple and entertaining platforming experience that is sure to make the kids happy. There are a couple combat quirks and the graphics have a few hitches, but it doesn't spoil the product. Game Factory has done its job and fashioned a fun little game, no more, no less.
  4. This is a wholly average game for small children, and just doesn't have anything to raise it above other similar games. I like the fact that the designers kept it simple for ease of play, but variety shouldn't have been sacrificed in the process.
  5. Adults are not going to find much of a challenge in Garfield and His Nine Lives - but kids just might dig it as long as they have some inkling as to who this fat cat really is.

With every clichéd platforming scenario and convention ever devised locked down and ready to boot, Garfield and his Nine Lives is both formulaic and as essential a purchase as a chocolate teapot. Quite simply, it's 'paw'.

The levels are short, but an item-collection feature offers some motivation to fight through them multiple times. [Jun 2006, p.86]
  8. With such simplistic controls, a kick (the B button) and a jump (the A button), a game like this could be executed much better. The player should definitely not be frustrated that the kick or jump doesn't quite work as expected, especially when there are no other options.
  9. This could have actually been an interesting game, but unfortunately it's uninspired and boring licensed drivel that few people are going to enjoy.

The momentum feels clunky and The music is WAY better than it deserves to be, and the game is actually decent looking. I just wish Garfield felt better to control. Full Review »
