Probably the best Dragon Ball Z game to date, and Im talking about any platform.
-
I was very impressed with almost every aspect of Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors. It is a very fun game that is easy to pick up on the controls. The graphics look amazing and the new engine is very sweet.
-
Arguably the best fighting game available on the Game Boy Advance and is worth every penny.
-
This game features one of the best single player modes for a Dragonball Z game ever. The mode also has enough depth that you will get a decent amount of gameplay playing through it. Future developers take note, this is how a Dragonball Z game should be made. [JPN Import]
-
A surprisingly deep fighter. Occasionally the fast combat can degenerate into button mashing, but the strategic elements are there if you can keep your wits about you.
-
Very fun, if not repetitive, and should hold your interest even if you arent a fan of the popular anime series.
-
The gameplay is decent, though somewhat repetitive, and players really feel like theyre controlling the Z characters in a heated battle. If your kid is a fan of the show, or youre secretly one yourself, this is one of the best DBZ games on the market.
-
The games visuals are awesome. The characters are sprite-based and extremely faithful to the show it is based on.
-
Atari set out to make amends for the debacle that was Taiketsu, and I feel that it came through quite nicely. There are some rough edges in the game, but if you can forgive the fighting system for its lack of depth, there will be plenty for you to like about this game.
-
Hands down the best DBZ fighting game released in the last few years on console or GBA.
-
This is a light-hearted beat-em-up that will appeal to both old-school fans and DragonBall aficionados.
-
If youre a Dragon Ball Z fan youre going to love Supersonic Warriors.
-
Anyone looking for the next "Street Fighter" probably ought to look elsewhere, but Dragon Ball fans (even casual watchers) will be more than delighted.
-
The fighting mechanics aren't quite as ironed out as expected and don't quite match up with the energetic front end, but overall Atari has brought out a decent game that better captures the Dragon Ball Z flavor than previous titles in the series have on the GBA handheld.
-
It was designed for the DBZ watchers of the world, and that's just who it's going to satisfy.
-
Its easy to recognize that this is still a good fighting game, albeit a somewhat easy one to get through, that does justice to the DBZ legacy that not every DBZ game is able to do.
-
An official apology for last year's dreadful "DBZ: Taiketsu." It gives gamers a true sense of the high-flying fighting action that makes up the anime series.
-
Dragon Ball Z fans that are loyal to the television show and had a hard time believing what they were playing in "Taiketsu" should be overjoyed with Supersonic Warriors.

Weekly Famitsu8 / 7 / 7 / 7 - 29 [Vol 798; 2 Apr 2004]
-
The continuous button mashing that infuses the famous yet most curious aerial acrobatics that those crazy DBZ fighters perform gives you pretty much everything you need to simulate the Saiyan art of combat.
-
Cheat Code CentralSupersonic Warrior is not the best fighter available for the GBA but it's the best of the Dragon Ball series so far. Now take your hands off your dragon balls and get playing.
-
It may lack the depth of console heavyweights such as Tekken and Virtua Fighter, but the playing options are terrific, with alternate stories and multiple forms of each pugilist to unlock.
-
Merely a mediocre licensed title with charm that falls flat after the tenth super is used in one fight. Its decent graphics and authentic voices from the show do little to improve its playability.
-
Nintendo PowerA strong 2-D one-on-one fighter that even casual fighting fans will get a kick out of. [Aug 2004, p.122]
-
Though Supersonic Warriors retains the show's flavor, it fails to measure up to the standards of a passable 2D fighter. [Sept 2004, p.118]
-
No challenge and no depth does not make for a good game.
