    I think Vicarious Visions did a respectable job with the DS version of War For Cybertron. It's not a great game, but at the same time it's far from bad, and Transformers fans with a DS should give this some consideration.

    The game is a lot of fun but quickly becomes repetitive; this combined with poor controls and short gameplay makes this title a lot less desirable in the end.

    Transformers: War For Cybertron made a valiant attempt at breaking the licensed stigma that seems to follow tie-in titles like this. While it doesn't achieve greatness, I can't help but at least give it credit for the attempt.

    I at first wasn't too sure of the game since I'm not usually into the G1 designs. But once I took a gander at the game's story, my opinion wasI at first wasn't too sure of the game since I'm not usually into the G1 designs. But once I took a gander at the game's story, my opinion was changed in a heartbeat.
    I did enjoy the gameplay overall, and I liked the different modes it had, ensuring there would still be plenty of content after you beat the game. It was cool I could even unlock Decepticon Characters for the other modes.

    The only real gripes I've got with the game is that the Artillery Specialists and Grenade Launchers are horrendous to deal with, even 1 of these guys are hard enough to result in a Game Over back to your previous checkpoint. The boss fights are challenging, but the thing is you HAVE to figure out their particular patterns and weaknesses / exploits or you will not win.

    But overall, Transformations : War for Cybertron (Autobots) is a very challenging and fun experience with plenty of content to keep you busy, and learn its story in the process. It's not as great as the console versions, but it'll make it worth your time.    … Full Review »
