  1. The platform levels are fairly interesting to play through, but they’re not enough to carry the entire game. The combat in the levels is boring, and the boss battles confusing.
  2. The Eternal Night tries its best to capture the classic Spyro recipe, but is let down by poor design, an unfair camera and infuriating difficulty spikes.

But the game still feels like a step backwards: clumsy storytelling, awkward gameplay, wonky camera, and awful boss battles.
  4. A likeable adventure. While it contains many frustrating aspects that gamers would do well to stand, there’s something in the game that makes it oddly appealing.

Mediocre 3D platformer with a simplistic puzzle game unhappily bolted on, as if the developers knew there wasn't enough to it. This game is no where near as bad as people say it is. It isn't bad, it just isn't very good.

It tries to be its own thing, and it does that well, but as a spyro game, it isn't the best. It's easy to level up your fire breath very quickly and melt everyone easily, and as soon as you get the second breath, the special is WAY to overpowered! But this was the first spyro game I ever played, so nostalgia my be a part of it, but this game is far from perfect, but still entertaining.
