It's no Layton, but puzzle-fiends might find it's worth a try of it's spotted cheap. [Aug 2010, p.72]

Sherlock Holmes and the Mistery of Osborne House is a good variation of the Professor Layton formula. The graphic is well drawn, but the complete lack of animations is quite sad. The puzzles are good and often complex enough, but every single mini-game is too much classic to create some problem to the genre lovers.

Sherlock Holmes has many elements in common with professor Layton, but the poor quality of the puzzles and of the story makes it a worse game than the Level 5 masterpiece.

It's certainly not a bad game, just a decidedly mediocre one, so unless you're in the mood for a fairly lightweight puzzle-adventure, a purchase is not so elementary this time.

Not many riddles are logical, which is a big letdown for a puzzle game.

Average title has all its parts balanced – no one is good to enough to adore or bad enough to criticize. If you miss it you won't miss anything crucial. If you play it, well... you get an eccentric detective and his case. [Aug 2010]
