Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Osbourne House could have been better if the puzzles weren't so simple and if its adventure was longer, with a deeper story. But it's an easily played, easily forgotten 40 euros game, without anything quite worth remembering. One cannot be Professor Layton just by wishing it.

Inspired by Professor Layton, Frogwares delivers here a substitute which lacks creativity and temper.

Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Osborne House misses the interesting riddles and also has a lot of text instead of puzzles, which does make it boring quite a bit.

Its multiple flaws, irregular difficulty curve and short durability make this game a failure.

Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Osbourne House is neither pretty good nor as good as any of the games in the Professor Layton series that it's trying to emulate. Why you'd play this game, when you could play any of the games it draws inspiration from is the real mystery.
