A pirate's life should never be a solitary one, and the game works much better when played with a group of mates. [Issue #24, p.74]
  2. Pirates: Duels on the High Seas is not particularly a bad game, it is just one that does not stand out.
  3. AceGamez

It's a decent game that misses out on greatness due to a lack of thought in level design and a lack of variety in looks.
  4. The lack of online multiplayer really brings the score down for Pirates: Duels on the High Sea. With the repetitive gameplay in the singleplayer mode, an online multiplayer mode would really have made Pirates much more fun.

The problem arises from the fact that it never tries to better itself as you progress.
  6. It's certainly not terrible, but then there's absolutely nothing special or interesting about it either.
  7. While it’s still a way off being a title to remember, it’s a massive improvement on KoD and shows promise for the franchise that appears to be on the up, addressing key areas like the difficulty.

Suddenly, it’s not nice any more. It’s a joke. £25 worth of bland. It’s like buying a surprise celebrity and getting home to discover it’s Dale Winton.
  9. I'd suggest avoiding this one, regardless of how low the price point may be, and you'd be better off spending your time on something else.
