Enjoyable activities include word recognition, spelling challenges, and vocabulary definition, including 16,800 words from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary. When you play, My Word Coach assesses, monitors, and rewards your Expression Potential, a score that represents your ability to command and use the English language. The higher the number (out of a possible 100%), the better you are able to express yourself!     As far as edutainment games goes, My Word Coach is one of the better ones I have spent time with and one in which nearly anyone age 8 or older should be able to get something out of.

    True, it all feels more like doing homework than playing a game. But the incentive to keep going is you do find yourself learning new words. If that appeals, My Word Coach offers a stylishly presented, relatively entertaining way of doing it.

    This is a classic case of a good idea with lackluster execution, making My Word Coach the kind of game that I'd like to see followed up with an expanded and improved sequel.

    I have a poor vocabulary, but this will work to improve it. It is a fun game to.

    I do have quite a good vocabulary and this did help me to improve it but after I unlocked all of the games, it did start to get very boring.I do have quite a good vocabulary and this did help me to improve it but after I unlocked all of the games, it did start to get very boring. Also, the music is dreadful and extremely annoying. However, for the purposes of being an educational game, it scores a seven and is quite fun when you start playing for the first time.… Expand

I was hoping for more context-based use of the vocabulary, but of the mini-games I've unlocked so far, it seems that you are expected to learn vocabulary based on 1 short definition for each word. Sometimes I found it hard to think of a way that I could use a new word in a sentence, based on the definition. If it included sentences for each word in future version, I would give it another try.… Expand

The interface is a bit clumsy. While determining your vocabulary initially, it uses a very interesting list of very unusual words which, regrettably, can't be viewed.
