Metal Slug 7 represents a frenetic, dynamic and funny game in the Metal Slug Series. The game is short, but it is usual in the series, it can be played a lot of times, considering that we have six different characters with different characteristics that offer different playable experiences. The problem with this game is that it does not have a multiplayer gameplay, and it does not have too much content more than the seven main missions. On the other hand, the game represents a poor artistic style in the scenarios design that do not offer a charismatic and powerful visual identity. The game is good, funny, and so classic even because the three difficulties offer credits that once they are over, the match finishes.

I remember playing it on my cousin’s ds
And a while ago i was fiddling around with this ds emulator and I thought, ‘huh that game was fun, imma try it again’
    I was not dissatisfied
    The shooting is amazing.
The graphics gorgeous to this day
And the level design is great

2D platform shoot 'em up from the old school that's pretty much run & gun royalty. The PSP version has better graphics thanks to its larger screen, but otherwise this is perfectly suited to the DS. Some may be put off by its sadistic difficulty level but it's one of the best games of its type on the system.

The game’s seven levels may not boast the artistry and meticulousness of its forebears’, but they boast action that at least equals them. [Oct 2008, p.102]

The game's lack of a two-player mode will be a profound disappointment for those gamers whose greatest Metal Slug flashbacks are fuelled by the showmanship and camaraderie of co-op play. [Oct 2008, p.123]
  3. This title does all the right things in terms of challenge, weapons, character options, and level designs. The problem is that it rarely goes beyond what’s been previously established; aside from a few insanely awesome boss fights and a handful of fancy new throwaway underlings to ravage, nearly all of your foes have been plucked from the older titles.
