Marvel TCG does a nice job of bringing the battle home for fans, but won't pull many new devotees to the fold.
-
It's not a great game by any measure, but it does an excellent job of tapping into the collector's mentality of comic-book fans.
-
This is a card collecting game, and it appears that it will help keep the genre alive a little longer. It's more akin to a defibrillation than a Genesis.
-
It's a solid first effort from 1st Playable and Konami, but unfortunately it isn't something I can recommend to anyone other than an avid player of the TCG.
-
Marvel TCG isn't too bad as far as digital trading-card games go, but it's unlikely to convert anyone not already invested in TCGs.
-
Card battling games have a very distinct target audience, and as so games like Marvel Trading Card Game will not appeal to everyone. But for those gamers who have been raised on Pokemon and Magic, Marvel Trading Card Game will fit right in to their collection.
-
If you’re a fan of Marvel Comics or the trading card game itself, then you’ll want to pick this title up. Others should keep in mind it takes a bit of patience to learn the basic rules.

Nintendo GamerCripes, there's a lot of rules and regulations to take in here. [Aug 2007, p.70]

We absolutely found ourselves drawn to Marvel Trading Card. It's just that the intense complexity and cramped screen real-estate kept it from being the accessible, instantly lovable smash-bang, super hero-em-up that the comics themselves are.
-
It's reasonably good-looking, intelligent and fun, but with a lot of flaws.
-
Sure playing some TCG can be frustrating but the majority of the time it was always fun. Marvel TCG for the DS is a disappointment when it comes to showing off how fun a TCG should be. You end up with a game that is hard to see, difficult to understand and hard to play which equals to a fun factor of close to zero.
-
Those looking at this game as a way to jump into the trading card genre, or just looking for a new way to make their’s Marvel, will be better suited with heading down to the Game Shop and entering the tutelage of the resident ten year old experts.
-
The Nintendo DS version of Marvel Trading Card Game is a clear example of a poor interface sullying an otherwise great experience.
