Mario & Sonic's first game at the Winter Olympics is an experience that slightly improves on many aspects upon it's predecessor, but has some slippery controls that it's predecessor didn't have. Additional characters include Metal Sonic and Donkey Kong, which is welcome in a game such as this, allowing for different ways to tackle the different events. The difference between each character, albeit not significant, do have minor impacts on the results of events. The video tutorials are annoying, and I have no idea why this was implemented, as even if you just want to know one move, you need to watch through the whole video to learn it, which is extremely tedious and unnecessary. Some events like the snowboarding and ice hockey feature good use of the DS touchscreen, but some events like cross country skiing do not, and offer little joy when you play them more than you need to. It's a good game overall, though. Expand

Story mode is fantastic, games are fun, and this M&S game is one of the few ones that are worth getting

Deserves NONE of the praise it got. A half ass, watered down port of a great experience. Shame on those people, for preferring such a boring and lifeless "game" to an actual one.

This could have been so much better. There is a good variety of events and while a few have had the gameplay tuned perfectly there are others that are incredibly frustrating and no fun at all to play.

I have just lost faith in level7! This is one of the best DS games. The adventure tours mode adds a lot of fun to the mix, a lot of the time you'll find yourself exploring and trying to find Whitestones, trivia, 1ups, etc. All the games have good control and the music fits the theme. The game has a high level of polish! The game is very good. Think Mario Golf for Game Boy Advance! I have just lost faith in level7! This is one of the best DS games. Each Olympic Winter Game feels like a unique full game, not a mini-game. There are a lot of fun Winter games in it and there are a lot of playable characters.

Este juego me encanto, aunque nunca llegue a terminarlo, ya que lo tenia pirata y lo tenían bloqueado, pero el modo historia me gustaba y los juegos de las olimpiadas también.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games offers enough new characters and games to offer an, at the very least, memorable experience

Out of all the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games games, this one is my favourite. It doesn't have a single bad sport in the whole game. And the Adventure Tour mode adds a new way to play. Like Mario Kart DS's mission mode, it needs to return to the newer games!

Игра средняя. В неё не интересно играть, на 3ds играть было интересней и легче из-за управления.

I LOVE the game. It was my first DS game and it was so fun. The campaign is good and overall the sports are fantastic. especially the cannonball one.

As someone who has never played a Mario or Sonic game (besides Mario Kart) I didn't think I'd like this game as much as I did. Much better than its 2008 predecessor, this game is a must-to-play for Nintendo DS. Lots of unique disciplines, AWESOME ost composed for the major part by Tomoya Ohtani (If you wonder who he is, he composed Endless Possibilities from Sonic Unleashed and many other awesome soundtracks), and Adventure Mode: WOW. Even if some events are a little bit annoying to play, that doesn't ruin the experience at all. The story is great, and there is such a cure for details that this title aged much better than i expected. If you haven't played this yet and you're looking for a good old NDS game, this is a great option of choice. 97/100 =) Expand

Of all the Minigame collections in the DS out there, this is one of the best ones. The minigames are a bunch of fun and they take full advantage of the ds hardware, the game also counts with a very nice story mode that none of the other olympic winter games had; The presentation of the game is very unique and the music is phenomenal. Just read a 6/10 review of the Wii version and toss in the words 'awful graphics, even for a DS', 'lacking in some creativity' and 'never buy this unless you want to get bored for the 1 hour of content this game offers.

Another nicely presented but dull touch screen-based Track & Field style game.

  1. Believe it or not, if you have both a Wii and a DS and you're not really bothered about multiplayer action, we'd recommend you pick up the DS version of this instead of the Wii one. [Nov 2009, p.70]

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games still has a bit of a “farmed out” feel to it.
