  1. Enchanted Folks is not just an Animal Crossing clone: Konami has successfully upgraded the classic formula of the great Nintendo game. An interesting setting and a few innovative ideas make this game very solid. Despite of the name, unfortunately it lacks a little bit of "magic" and a wider world area.
  2. If you liked Harry Potter and Animal Crossing at the DS, Enchanted Folk will also entertain you.
  3. Sorry wizardry fans; if you're looking for magical mystery, I suggest you re-read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Magician's Quest just doesn't deliver.

There are a couple of neat features in Enchanted Folk, but it gets too bogged down with boring activities and doesn't make enough of its magic theme. [June 2009, p.66]
  5. Enchanted Folk is to Animal Crossing what the first Saints Row was to GTA; it's a competent, entertaining knock-off, but it's still a knock-off.

It's cute and I can see certain subsets of gamers becoming addicted to treasure hunting and meeting all of the residents, but there are no new discoveries to be found here.
  7. If you purchase this game, be ready to invest some time and patience into it.
