    Even though it doesn't push a lot further its concept than the original, Inazuma Eleven 2 still is a very nice RPG with a cool soccer-based fantasy universe and a lot to do and play.

    If you enjoyed the first game you will have fun with this second installment. It doesn't add many changes, except for some new additions that improve its gameplay, and it is also a longer game with more content. A unique mix of roleplaying and football that can become really addictive.

    That a role playing game with soccer action can be given this much depth, charm and variation isn't new for fans of the series. Part 2 doesn't offer anything new, but remains interesting for hours on end thanks to hundreds of new moves to learn and a fun story.

    Inazuma Eleven 2 is a weird adventure which will especially appeal fans of jRPGs and Japanese animation. It's very similar to its prequel and share the same lackluster visuals, however its peculiar "combat system" and fun plot make out for it.

    Inazuma Eleven 2 is the same good game with the typical high value production Level5 give to their projects. Both versions set the story in a prominent position, offering the same original mechanics of the first episode but with much more content to play with.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. It is perhaps the most entertaining sports game on the Nintendo DS. A groundbreaking sequel to the creative and colorful Inazuma Eleven Soccer RPG. An action packed, roadtrip game where you travel across the country to recruit the greatest players in the world in order to stop football playing aliens from destroying schools. If you enjoyed playing the first game or watching the first season of the anime, you're going to adore this game for numerous reasons.

    For starters, the gameplay feels so much smoother compared to the first game. Some new and returning special moves can now be used block shots. Some shooting moves can now be shot anywhere on the field. Shooting moves now come in red, blue, and purple. The sprite animations look cleaner. Everything feels faster and more powerful, which ties in with this game's major theme very nicely.

    You're not just defeating brand new villains and learning a few new tricks, you're urged to build an ultimate football team with no restraints. Couldn't recruit Zeus' captain and goalkeeper in Inazuma Eleven 1? Well now you can! Curious about what Emperor Penguin Number 1 would look like? The secret is revealed in Chapter 5! Want a make football team that doesn't include Mark Evans? That's a bit cruel, but beat the game and voila! Mark Evans can now be placed in storage!

    I will admit that while I do enjoy the alien attack story a lot, it is a bit on the cheesy side. Like the last game, the lore is very dark and mysterious to add to the intimidation of the villains. But it is rather silly to see football playing aliens that speak English threaten the world. It should never be taken to seriously. But the story makes up for that in personality. All the new and returning characters are so likable, that it makes me really care about their struggle.

    There's a lot of grim cutscenes of players being brutally injured by the aliens or being forced to leave the team. It almost feels like a horror drama at times. But the game also balances that out with an upbeat theme song to raise the player's sprits. This is the darkest game in the series, but it also has a lot of energy to it. It feels so satisfying to beat the supposed unstoppable alien teams after gathering your new teammates.

    If you're a fan of anime games, soccer games, or RPGs in general. I high recommend this game. And if your from America and have only played the American version of the first game, the UK version of this game is still compatible with American DS and 3DS systems. And the British voice acting is superior to the anime's English dub.    … Full Review »
