    This, masterpiece, is the definitive gaming experience. I have never before in my life played any game as entralling, immersive, or enriching as Cory In The House on the Nintendo DS. every facet of this games design is refined and polished to perfection. Truly, this is, the pinnacle of gaming.

    I am upset that Metacritic cannot go higher than a 10 rating. This game has moved me in ways unimaginable. With it's amazing game play and story which beautifully ties in with the anime, it easily deserves Game of the Decade.

Every time the words Cory in the House are, mentioned tears flood my eyes and thoughts of the pure ecstasy rifle through my brain.

    The graphics are amazing. Never before has one game managed to raise the bar so high, it may be years, no, centuries before man can achieve such great heights. The graphics are a representative of all human achievement. The great artists: Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, must of came down and placed the beauty they saw in heavens and placed it into the Graphics.

    This game will erect feelings that you will never feel again, so be cautious when playing this, it will change you life forever. I can't tell you how many times I laid, curled in my bed crying and whimpering out the name "Cory". This game has to be recognized for the masterpiece that it is, and no one can every take it away from human history. As in the words of Cory's dad:

    "This world is one of sadness. Battle brings death. Death brings sorrow. The living may not hear them. Their voices may fall upon deaf ears. But make no mistake - the dead... are not silent." ~Cory Baxter's dad.

    Cory in the House is, in my not-so-humble opinion, the pinnacle of human achievement. Featuring expertly crafted storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and an intense musical score that sends shivers down your spine every time you hear those first few notes, this masterpiece is a timeless classic.

    This game truly is a masterpiece. Forget games like Call of Duty, Destiny... whatever. You got to stick to the classics like this legendary game. The game has an intriguing story that has AMAZING character development. The graphics and voice acting was absolutely flawless. The plot twist was so unexpected it had me crying when it ended.     Absolutely amazing ! With awesome graphics and an insane kind of gameplay, this game creates an unique experience through Cory´s story. Everyone should play this game at least once in a lifetime. Sincerely recommend.

    I have always loved Cory since I was a 6 year old niglet and thought he was a great example for all black people out there, supporting their nation instead of terrorizing it.     Before finding this game, it was as if my life was over. I lost my job, my wife and my house within the space of a month. Before I knew it, I was standing at the side of a bridge, ready to end it all. That's when it happened. As people surrounded me, saying things like "don't do it" and "it's not worth it", one man emerged from the crowd, and in his hand, he held a copy of Cory in theBefore finding this game, it was as if my life was over. I lost my job, my wife and my house within the space of a month. Before I knew it, I was standing at the side of a bridge, ready to end it all. That's when it happened. As people surrounded me, saying things like "don't do it" and "it's not worth it", one man emerged from the crowd, and in his hand, he held a copy of Cory in the House for the DS. He walked towards me, and placed the box in my hand without saying a word. In my pocket was the 3DS I held so dearly to my heart, the only friend I had left in this world. I decided that before I end it, I'd boot it up once more for old times sake. I popped the cartridge in and started up the game. As the opening theme began to play, tears streamed down my face. "There's no reason to end it here", I said to myself. I knew, that no matter what, I had to continue living, not for my wife, or my boss, but for Cory. Since then, I got a new job, a new house, and even a new wife. Cory in the House literally saved my life, and I could not be anymore thankful for that. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone. Because this isn't just a game, it's art, and a masterpiece at that. Cory in the House will live on as a legend for all eternity. Even when man fades to dust, when mankind has been all but forgotten, there will still be Cory. So join me, join me on this wonderful journey through the life of Cory Baxter, and become part of the legend that is Cory in the House on DS.… Expand

    By far the greatest game I have ever played. Can't believe it got even one negative review! This game features superb graphics and one of the most riveting story-lines I have ever encountered. This game easily gets my 10/10 rating. I have yet to encounter a better all around game.

It makes games like Skyrim and GTA look like relics from the Nintendo 64 era, an era that would undoubtably have been better if it were for masterpieces like Cory in the House. The gameplay is nothing short of spectacular, with every event, plot piece, and element providing such an experience that one would have to take months from school, work, or other such piece of employment to capture the experience at it's fullest (and even that's just scraping the surface). Once you play this game, all other games like just that; games. Cory in the House is not a game. it's an experience, a way of life. there's no better way to experience your life, combat your depression, anxiety, whatever it may be, than with a good run of Cory in the House. From the entirety of the story line that would leave you waiting on the edge of your seat, to the insurmountable difficulty and gameplay quality.

    Cory in the house is very important to me. When I was 8, I contemplated self harm due to the excessive bullying going on at my school, and I am sad to say, that I did eventually turn to it. One day, during one of my cutting sessions, I was hallucinating due to blood loss and I saw him. With a regal Nigerian aura to him, Cory appeared before me.     Honestly, this is a breakthrough for games. This is AMAZING. The story, the character development, the graphics. This beats some of what the PS4 and XBOne can. And this was made in 2008! Cory in The House, Bee Movie and Cars are animes that have reduced suicide rates by 89%. It is a great game about a great anime.

    Cory in the House completely redefines the way that I look at games. Everything is fantastic from the witty humor to the rich story telling. Because of the deep plot, the game is best played fresh and free of spoilers. To add to this, the unbelievable graphics push the DS past the limits. When a game is this wonderful, you can not give it a price tag.

I pray to Cory every night before bed, thanking him for the life I've been given. "Cory is love" I say; "Cory is life". My dad hears me and calls me a fa*got. I know he was just jealous of my devotion for Cory. I called him a c*nt. He slaps me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. Suddenly, a warmth is moving towards me, It's Cory. I am so happy! He whispers into my ear, "This is my house". He grabs me with his powerful hands and puts me down onto my hands and knees. "I'm ready". I spread my as*-cheeks for Cory. He penetrates my bu*t-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Cory. I can feel my bu*t tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force.     Cut 185g unsalted butter into smallish cubes and tip into a medium bowl. Break 185g best dark chocolate into small pieces and drop into the bowl. Fill a small saucepan about a quarter full with hot water, then sit the bowl on top so it rests on the rim of the pan, not touching the water. Put over a low heat until the butter and chocolate have melted, stirring occasionally to mix them. NowCut 185g unsalted butter into smallish cubes and tip into a medium bowl. Break 185g best dark chocolate into small pieces and drop into the bowl. Fill a small saucepan about a quarter full with hot water, then sit the bowl on top so it rests on the rim of the pan, not touching the water. Put over a low heat until the butter and chocolate have melted, stirring occasionally to mix them. Now remove the bowl from the pan. Alternatively, cover the bowl loosely with cling film and put in the microwave for 2 minutes on High. Leave the melted mixture to cool to room temperature.
    While you wait for the chocolate to cool, position a shelf in the middle of your oven and turn the oven on to fan 160C/conventional 180C/gas 4 (most ovens take 10-15 minutes to heat up). Using a shallow 20cm square tin, cut out a square of non-stick baking parchment to line the base. Now tip 85g plain flour and 40g cocoa powder into a sieve held over a medium bowl, and tap and shake the sieve so they run through together and you get rid of any lumps.
    With a large sharp knife, chop 50g white chocolate and 50g milk chocolate into chunks on a board. The slabs of chocolate will be quite hard, so the safest way to do this is to hold the knife over the chocolate and press the tip down on the board, then bring the rest of the blade down across the chocolate. Keep on doing this, moving the knife across the chocolate to chop it into pieces, then turn the board round 90 degrees and again work across the chocolate so you end up with rough squares.
    Break 3 large eggs into a large bowl and tip in 275g golden caster sugar. With an electric mixer on maximum speed, whisk the eggs and sugar until they look thick and creamy, like a milk shake. This can take 3-8 minutes, depending on how powerful your mixer is, so don’t lose heart. You’ll know it’s ready when the mixture becomes really pale and about double its original volume. Another check is to turn off the mixer, lift out the beaters and wiggle them from side to side. If the mixture that runs off the beaters leaves a trail on the surface of the mixture in the bowl for a second or two, you’re there.
    Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the eggy mousse, then gently fold together with a rubber spatula. Plunge the spatula in at one side, take it underneath and bring it up the opposite side and in again at the middle. Continue going under and over in a figure of eight, moving the bowl round after each folding so you can get at it from all sides, until the two mixtures are one and the colour is a mottled dark brown. The idea is to marry them without knocking out the air, so be as gentle and slow as you like – you don’t want to undo all the work you did in step

    Hold the sieve over the bowl of eggy chocolate mixture and resift the cocoa and flour mixture, shaking the sieve from side to side, to cover the top evenly. Gently fold in this powder using the same figure of eight action as before. The mixture will look dry and dusty at first, and a bit unpromising, but if you keep going very gently and patiently, it will end up looking gungy and fudgy. Stop just before you feel you should, as you don’t want to overdo this mixing. Finally, stir in the white and milk chocolate chunks until they’re dotted throughout. Now your mixing is done and the oven can take over.
    Pour the mixture into the prepared tin, scraping every bit out of the bowl with the spatula. Gently ease the mixture into the corners of the tin and paddle the spatula from side to side across the top to level it. Put in the oven and set your timer for 25 minutes. When the buzzer goes, open the oven, pull the shelf out a bit and gently shake the tin. If the brownie wobbles in the middle, it’s not quite done, so slide it back in and bake for another 5 minutes until the top has a shiny, papery crust and the sides are just beginning to come away from the tin. Take out of the oven.
    Leave the whole thing in the tin until completely cold, then, if you’re using the brownie tin, lift up the protruding rim slightly and slide the uncut brownie out on its base. If you’re using a normal tin, lift out the brownie with the foil. Cut into quarters, then cut each quarter into four squares and finally into triangles. These brownies are so addictive you’ll want to make a second batch before the first is finished, but if you want to make some to hide away for a special occasion, it’s useful to know that they’ll keep in an airtight container for a good two weeks and in the freezer for up to a month.    … Expand

I gave my friend this game and he passed out from all of the excitement that this game offers. It is sad that no other game was as good as Corey in the House, but i will never stop playing this game!

Pizza, I bite into a slice too hot, using my tongue to tear the skin from the roof of my mouth, I attempt a squint into the acrid steam that is belching out of the sewer lids on the dark street. Through the foul suspension i see a gathering of children beneath a brilliantly lit sign which reads "Gamestop". Muttering curses under my breath, I approach the storefront which so brazenly pollutes the peace of what must be the only tranquil road left in this godless city, and arrive just to notice how out of place the building is. On a strip of buildings that rest shoulder to shoulder, all filled to the brim with people just like myself, constantly clawing upwards towards that poverty line, this place rests alone on the corner, a perfect cube of about 15 feet each way, full of young children.

    As i enter the front door, I take in the peculiar sight of a store seemingly dedicated to only one product. It's a cartridge for the Nintendo DS, a handheld device my nagging wife coerced me into spending my last year's Christmas bonus on in an attempt to wrestle our rebellious 8 year old boy into human behavior. The box seemed so unassuming. A smiling, slightly overweight African child on the cover who seems eager to share his adventures with me, yet without the zeal of desperation. I deduced from the title smeared across the packaging that this young child's name was Cory, and I felt oddly compelled to oblige his unspoken request. There was a price to this, of course. Today, the advertised price of adventure was 29.99, though, unbeknown to me, I would one day come to realize that the true price extended far beyond any monetary value imaginable.

    I vainly reached into my pocket without a second thought. I don't know why I bothered, I knew I only had $30 left until payday, a full week and a half away. The fleshy stalactites still hanging against my tongue, and the realization that I was unable to cover the tax on this transaction, I was overcome with a remorse so profound, I almost found the ground rushing to meet me. I tossed my hands over my face in a meager attempt to hide my tears from the group of children around me. I left the store immediately, and began on my way back home.

    I couldn't made it half a block before, through teary eyes, I saw a small robin crying out. I crouched down to see why it was fussing, and say that someone had cruelly stapled a 5 dollar bill to its wing. Rather than sadness, I felt a guiltless excitement. Pulling the money off its wing quickly, I immediately started back to fulfill what now felt like my calling. Thinking back now, I never so much as looked back at the anguished animal; I was far too consumed by the mind bending desire to see this house that Cory apparently resided in.

    The next five minutes were as unremarkable as they were damning. I simply made my way back to the store and purchased the game with my newly found wealth. I then hurried home, not even affording my wife or child a hasty hello as I passed them on the way to my son's room. I quickly plugged his DS into the charger, and in one of the last conscious movements I can recall, I unwrapped the treasure from its prison, inserted it into the device, and pressed the power button.

    I understand that I should be writing a review, sharing my experiences with the game, giving a list perhaps of the pros and cons, and helping inform a potential buyer of the merits of such a purchase. It is in not doing such a thing where I fail you. Truth be told, I remember nothing of the experience beyond purchasing the game and turning it on. I have instead shared with you my last memories for a period of nearly 7 years. I found myself awakening 3 days ago to a bright light and the smell of smoke and burning plastic, leaving me dazed and senseless. After regaining my composer, I looked around myself and saw that where i found myself was still my son's room, only completely empty barring myself, and a nonfunctional Nintendo DS. I looked down and saw that i had grown a long, matted beard, and my hair reached the floor beneath me, so unlock and unkempt that it seemed to be forming a cocoon around my entire body. I struggled to get up, not realizing just how long I had been seated, nor how much my physique had atrophied in that time. After what seemed to be days of agony, I managed to crawl my way out the door of this room and into the hallway of my home, and saw the date on the calendar. October 21st, 2014.    … Expand

    Cory in the house is one of my personal favorite anime. the developers of the game have made one of the best story line that i think rivals game of thrones. the graphics beat current gen by far and i love that the company have took the time for the game to run at 1080p 60fps. if you could play one game instead of having sex i would say play Cory in the house

    The beautiful graphics might even be better than that of a next-gen game. The art style is fantastic, and really fits the scenery. The colors are super clear and beautiful and really brings out the beauty of the game. The textures are just so well made. Textures such as bushes and trees are extremely detailed and realistic. Also, the HD-textures are amazing. I was also browsing the concept art gallery, and you could just see on the drawing that this guy was a professional.

    THE CHARACTERS, SCRIPT AND PLOT:
    The characters are so well made that it feels like they're real persons. The backstory, the character development, the beautiful voice acting. You can just see that the developers really went in-depth with the characters. Everytime something bad happened, I cried. I literally thought Cory was real for a second while playing this game. The plot is the best I've seen in ages. never have I seen such an interesting plot. It's based on the TV-series, and the plot is very similar, but it’s a parallel universe, so it is different. If you put this game next to a LOTR book, and made me chose which plot I liked the most, I would choose this game. The scriptwriting is fantastic. It’s so realistic. It’s like a real conversation. I was literally into the plot instantly.

    THE SOUNDTRACK:
    The music is really good. The music might even top off stuff such as Mozart or Nirvana. It's that good. It’s a mix between a lot of genres. There’s a 8-bit music, dubstep, electro, punk, rock and a lot of other stuff. The soundtrack is their own original soundtrack, so they made everthing themselves. The sound sounds so good on the NDS speakers.

    FINAL EVALUATION:
    This game gets a 10/10 without a single doubt. Everything about this game is just perfect. This is one of history’s best games ever. I’m proud to be one of the people who played this game. The fantastic writing is at the same time incompassed with some beautiful pixel art. The graphics were revolutionary and still hold up great today. The game also has tons of different music tracks that fit every moment perfectly, and will be stuck in your head for hours.

    The amount of detail that went into making this game is astonishing. Just take the controls for example. The way Cory moves is realisticly represented in the controls. Things like these will keep you entertained for the hundreds of hours of open-world gameplay the game provides.

    The game mixes smooth combat with stealth and some very fun minigames, combinding into a satisfying package. I'm a 100% sure that this game's combat mechanics inspired RockSteady to make the Arkham games. I also believe that Kojima took ideas from this game's stealth when developing MGS 4.

    I could gush on for hours on end about how magnificent this game is, but what I want to say is: don't listen to all of this game's haters, they're obviously to stupid to understand good Game-Design. Please, just do yourself a favor and pick up this masterpiece, you won't regret it. It's by far the best game ever made.    … Expand

    This is the real father of all games. I love how this wonderful anime is presented in this high-tech modern Dee Ess game.

    Big fat kid in the house is a wonderful anime by itself, but this game makes it look even better.

    This is easily the greatest game I've ever played in my life. It is a truly life-changing experience. It's beautiful and ageless in it's quality. It deserves even higher than the meager 10 I can give it.

The bosses look absolutely breathtaking, and require deep, sinuous strategy. The fights are ultimately very rewarding, and I loved watching Cory's enemies explode into pieces. This game also has a wonderful weapon system, as it contains over 200 weapons, and each has tons of combos to master. While you may find them with similar base combos (e.g A+A+Y+Y for a kick punch shoot and satisfying stab) but those skills branch off into other skill sets that are breathtaking in size. To this day, the game still compels me, and it doesn't ever fail to disappoint. I've played 10,000+ hours of this game and I've just now only got one of the numerous endings completed with every character. If you need extra cash to pay your water bill or electric bill, that doesn't freaking matter. PICK UP THIS GAME TODAY. The only actual complaint I have with this game is that the loading times increase by .001 second on the PS4 port, but that's about it. 10/10 MASTERPIECE… Expand

    It combines the epic gameplay from elite beat agents/osu, with epic rpg elements. How can anyone say no????

    Definatly deserves a remake for the 3ds, nx, wii u, xbox one, ps4, pc, psvita, mobile, and litterally every other platform ever.

    This game is simply phenomenal. The plot was captivating, riveting, and emotional at the same time. The gameplay though obtuse at first sight, was focused and polished to the finest pixel. The laughbox that they decided to add in may appear as a bonehead move at first glance, but it perfectly complimented the witty dialogue.

There are few games that can do what Cory in the House did to me. After the 3 weeks I spent playing Cory in the House, I wasn't the same person anymore. Cory changed my life. The story is almost incomprehensible when spoken outside of the game but makes perfect sense, and even provides the most heart-wrenching, thought-provoking stories I've ever seen. There are no words with which I can properly describe the audio and visual excellence. The gameplay is so incredibly deep and intuitive that all other games fail to even measure against Cory in the House. If you liked the anime, play Cory in the House.     The game has some of the clunkiest controls we've seen, the presentation is insultingly stupid, the minigames are hardly games at all, and on top of everything it's really short.

    Simply put, I cannot recommend Cory in the House for the DS, not even to the most hardcore fan of the TV series.
