  1. The game is constructed on a solid engine, offers exceptional gameplay, and has some of the best graphics seen in any DC title to date. While the game doesn’t make the revolutionary leap many fans were looking for, what’s here is rock solid.

Crazy Taxi 2 may have new gameplay mechanics, new cities, and new mini-games than Crazy Taxi but that doesn't make it better than the original. And like I said above, there are some controls issues that I noticed, but that really doesn't effect the enjoyment of the game.

The game's "more of the same" feel will ultimately prevent it from achieving the same status as the original, but when the original was so much fun, "more of the same" can't possibly be bad.
  4. Slightly improved graphics, thoughtfully designed new cities, and two new gameplay modes make CT2 feel more like an add-on than a full sequel. Still, it's an add-on to one of the Dreamcast's best games.
  5. Even if it doesn't offer the most innovative gameplay, you're still guaranteed hours of mayhem-filled fun.
  6. Sort of like asking how much better is a bottle of Pepsi than a can of Pepsi. Sure the bottle is bigger, it offers you more, it looks slightly different but in the end it tastes the same.
  7. Feels more like Crazy Taxi 1.5 than a full sequel. The same basic, addictive formula is present, but for some reason it just doesn't feel as exciting or challenging as the original.

    Duracion: 4 horas

The problem is, it lacks the smart map design that made the first Crazy Taxi such an immediately playable experience.

In the original Crazy Taxi, the map was very linear, and each section was visually distinct. This made it so the player was rarely lost and always had a clear path to where they needed to go. The only barrier was execution. In Crazy Taxi 2, it's just the opposite. The map is denser, and every section of this big city blends together visually. Unless the whole city is memorized, the player will never be able to orient themselves.

It creates a roadblock for the player before they can enjoy that addictive Crazy Taxi gameplay. It strikes me as the developers not quite understanding the secret sauce that made the first game such a hit. It has the mechanics, the style, the music, but not the glue that holds it all together.

Too much of the same old, tired game - and the new doesn't cut it at all...
