This is my first time playing OOT and I wasn't expecting much from it as I thought most of the praise surrounding the game was due to nostalgia. After completing the game and going in blind and I can admit I was completely wrong, this game deserves all the praise it gets.

I couldn't buy this game when a i was a child. Later i tried to play it with an emulator but before the forest temple my save state crash. Fortunately, after several years i could play it on the 3DS.
This game is incredible. The story, the graphics, the soundtrack everything it simply amazing.

I remember the feeling of freedom that it gave me when i could roam over the open world completing the side quests. The combat system is also great and has inspired many other games.
To sum up, on of the best games of all times.

OK, so i am playing this game in 2019 after playing breath of the wild and i will admit that this game does not deserve the attention it gets. I never played the original on the n64 so i cant relate to that. THE GRAPHICS ARE AWFUL FOR A 3DS. Even games like tomodachi life have better graphics. I find the controls wak and the story to be OK but not enough to give this game more than 5 sorry

The definitive version of one of the best games of all time. Since its release, Ocarina of Time 3D has become one of the main reasons to own a 3DS. Massively improved graphics and additions/corrections to the gameplay that make the game look really fresh and worth playing for the first time or revisiting.

If you have never played this classic game, stop reading this review and get out there and buy it. The core essence of Ocarina of Time ages exceptionally well (even in light of sequels that have expanded on it), and it's never looked better. That Nintendo and Grezzo were only willing to adjust and enhance so much (by and large the sound is untouched) is truly admirable and speaks to their respect for the source material and its original developers. There is no doubt in my mind that it was the right choice. Why mess with perfection?

That said, that decision comes with a price, one that will frustrate many of you who have played this game over and over again and are in the market for drastic change. If the graphical boost isn't enough - and let's be honest, we're already seeing some games on the 3DS that look better than this - you're not going to have much else to satisfy your interests. It's clear this game is being released to find a new generation of gamers that are just discovering Nintendo's franchises. The rest of us will have to determine if it's worth re-visiting a Hyrule we've known for nearly 13 years. Rest assured, though, that doing so will not only let you relive a masterpiece, it will let you experience it in the best way possible.

First of all, this game is something I have never seen before. This specific title, is the most memorable, original and beautiful game I ever played. I find this so sad that games today can't even get close to the level of OoT.

Let me start by saying I don't believe there is a better version of this game between the Nintendo 64 and the 3DS. Both games can actually be quite different experiences depending on how you play them, but if I had to choose one to replay, it would be this version. The cleaner graphics allow for a much better understanding of what is happening around you, and quite frankly will not scare your children nearly as much as the Nintendo 64 version scarred the minds of many kids who played this game for the first time on Christmas of 1998 (or Thanksgiving if your family is into that kind of thing).

Ocarina of Time is considered one of, if not the best video game of all time by most major and minor video game reviewers and journalists, so for it to be remade with better graphics, on a handheld console, with gyro controls, and in the option of 3D was a huge risk for Nintendo and the Zelda team, but they nailed it. The gyro controls flopped on many games, but not this one. Aiming your bow and arrow or grappling hook on your own using your DS provides a much cleaner and quicker system of aim and shoot than the Nintendo 64 was able to offer, and sometimes the 3D option combined with the first person perspective of the aiming items immerses you so much within the game your heart begins to beat twice as fast when you aim down an enemy with your bow.

All in all the 3DS version of this game balances nostalgia and gameplay perfectly. They improved on the only minor issues of the original game, while (aside from the beautifully advanced graphics) not getting rid of anything we love and fear about the original 3D Hyrule.

One of the best remakes of one of my top 3 all time favorite video games. Very well remastered - graphics are WAAAAY better than the dated N64 version, and I actually preferred the controls over the N64. Took me a while to complete this game because of how hard it is to navigate at times. Leaving the game unplayed for a few weeks can be a problem when you return and don't know what to do. Honestly that's the only complaint I have about this game, otherwise, it's great! Amazing story, very cool concept and a must have on the 3DS!

I dont think this game is as good as everyone says it is. I never played the game as a kid and only approached it when I was 22- meaning I am not approaching this from a sentimental perspective. For me personally, the game felt unfair and too cryptic (what others might like about it). I do not mind being given a general direction and then to work something out. However, this game gives at times no direction of where to go or what to do to get there. Some like this, I do not. Running around the world, attempting to get clues on where to go and how to actually get there seems quite frustrating. A lot of the time obsticles are trial and error and it ruined the immersion for me, as I constinantly arrived at hiccups. I understand the game uses abstract reasoning & I could be very well weak at that. But, I had no motivation to play the game, so I didn't feel the want to invest in the puzzles and I found myself caring less about Link in his attempt to save Hyrule. Expand

The art style and atmosphere have been butchered in this re-release. Blood removed, moon symbols removed, saturation tripled, shiny anime game effect added. This is not Ocarina of Time, it's missing one of the most key parts of the experience, the mood. Playing this does not mean you have played Oot, you are still missing out heavily.

This is possibly the greatest video game of all time due to it's incredulously addictive and engaging game play and story. It's just like the original, except it's better, for it adds content while not taking anything away from the original game. This is definitely my most favorite video game of all time; I recommend it to everybody, including people who don't typically enjoy video games.
