It's disappointing to see such a promising title held back by problems that could have been easily fixed. [April 2012, p.83]

The fact that Shifting World's flaws are so easily fixable makes this release all the more frustrating.

It has all the earmarks of a classic puzzler that keeps you coming back for more. That's what makes it so frustrating: it's clear there's a good game under the surface, but it's lying at the bottom of a deep pool of frustrating, ill-conceived design decisions.

A great idea for a puzzle game, with a cool minimal art style, but it's just stretched too thin. The baffling slowdown and useless mini-map only make it worse. [July 2012, p.92]

Shifting world is a puzzle that you wont want to figure out.
Part of a puzzle game is ease of use and logical outcomes.
"Shifting" switches keyblocks, stop blocks, inverts the colors and rotates the world. In 3d. Visual strain sets in, and quickly.
It isnt good, at all. The premise is easy but predicting where things will shift to becomes tedious with the 'overhyped' shifting mechanic. Just switch, dont do the roll and the flash and... ugh.
There are better, smarter puzzlers out there that wont give you a headache. Skip this one, 2d AND 3d.

I can easily say this game is one of the best puzzle games on the 3DS, in my opinion it is the best! The only criticism is I would have like a few more levels in the game or even some DLC level packs. So I highly recommend Shifting Worlds to anyone seeking a new challenge. Full Review »
