I absolutely loved the Sega 3D Classics Collection. Sega did an outstanding job in picking this lineup (they credit fan requests) and the work is presented with love.

If you're a lifelong Nintendo fan, you owe it to yourself to see what those on the other side of the console wars enjoyed. You're in for a treat.

Not all the games here are equally popular, but their quality is out of doubt. If you'd like to play some of the games that wrote the history of video games with some nice additions, you can't miss this collection.

Sega’s new compilation features a slew of titles that not only stand the test of time, but have also been enhanced for the 3DS.

With beautifully done 3D effects, a solid selection of games, and a myriad of options for those games, SEGA 3D Classics Collection is a very solid purchase for fans of the classic SEGA arcade era.

The ability to play perfect emulations of the classics on the go, with the addition of genuinely good 3D effects should be more than enough reason for Sega fans to pick this one up.

A great compilation that offers 9 awesome classics, although only 7 of them have something 'special'. Altered Beast & Thunder Blade are the low points on this compilation.

3D SEGA Classics Collection is a decent compilation, without heavyweights like Out Run or Super Hang-On, but with a strong personality as well.

A must-have compilation for those nostalgic gamers out there, with some of the best Sega games and some less appealing but still enjoyable titles.

A really good compilation of retro games made by Sega, which includes classic hits like Sonic the Hedgehog or Puyo Puyo 2.

A snazzy package with some neat bonuses that serves as a fun historical compilation of old Sega classics. [Issue #21 – May/June 2016, p.73]

Maze Walker may not be much fun, but it's never looked this nice. Of course, if you haven't already picked up these games individually, there's no question — this is a must-have compilation.

Sega 3D Classics Collection doesn’t have the finest selection of mainstream hits Sega could have assembled, but that curious nature is precisely what makes it so special. Had only the most beloved fan-favourites been given the 3D makeover, I simply wouldn't have walked away with the same sense of awe.

SEGA 3D Classics Collection is a great value package, full of worthy games that look and play wonderfully on the 3DS.

The choice regarding which titles to include in this Sega 3D Classics Collection is very questionable, as there are great titles (Sonic, Galaxy Force II, Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2 and Fantasy Zone II), decent ones (Thunder Blade) and almost bad ones too (Altered Beast, Maze Walker). All of them have been treated with love and respect, and the price is right: nostalgia will be a factor, in the end.

Sega 3D Classics Collection is decent collection of games made better by an earnest attempt to do something fun and unique with older games.

Sega 3D Classics Collection is a hard release to judge. On one hand, it’s a mixed selection of M2’s fantastic library of classic Sega games reworked for the 3DS. On the other, it offers up stellar versions of every one of those games, which fans will especially appreciate.

SEGA 3D Classics Collection is an enjoyable bundle of games. But nothing more than that. The title is probably the most fun to play for the people most nostalgic about SEGA.

For the Sega fans looking for some games to take on the go that even look pretty decent in 3D, this collection has something for everyone, although the price point may be a bit too steep when some games are short lived.

It’s a nice package, and the 3D is proof that classic titles from what I consider the golden era of gaming can pop fantastically well on the 3DS. Next time, hopefully the selection can vary more broadly, making the package both worthy of a full price tag and hours of investment instead of a burst of nostalgia and the question of why my wallet feels lighter than it should.

Sega 3D Classics Collection is an uneven package, but nothing outside of Altered Beast is what I would consider a "bad game."

Even though Sega 3DS Classics Collection isn't a full priced game, it should've included more games and a sense of history with documents and pictures about them.

If you have never played any of the games in this collection, you will not appreciate it. The port to 3DS is great, but most games do not stand the test of time.
  25. 60
Despite the name, there really aren't many classics included in this compilation. The historical value is rich, though, and the 3D remakes by M2 are top notch. It's just too bad that better games weren't included.

Sega 3D Classics Collection is a fantastic presentation of mostly mediocre games, like a beautifully shot and directed movie featuring David Duchovny in its leading role.
  27. 50
Some of the best emulation work ever undertaken, it’s just a pity it’s been wasted on such a miserable collection of decidedly non-classic games.

The rest are kind of like bonuses for me, but are still great games. The additional 3D Master System games they added just for this collection are also great & Maze Walker looks especially good in 3D. There's also a hidden Master System game of Fantasy Zone you can unlock by simply touching the screen in the "Extras" menu on the bottom left, making a total of 10 games. 10 great remastered games for a $19.99 physical copy is a great deal.

Just know that the eShop version is $29.99 for some reason while physical copies are actually cheaper at around $19.99. Physical copies also come with some sweet retro decals, which I decided to stick to my N3DS to give it a bit of flavor. You can also buy some of these games as well as other SEGA 3D classics on the eShop separately for $5.99 each, with the main exceptions being the Master System 3D remakes & Power Drift.
