Nov 2, 2013Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land feels a lot like one of my favorite DSi platformers no one played -- Pro Jumper: Guilty Gear Tangent. It pretty much knows what it is, and even if it doesn't offer up anything new for those who normally loathe platform games, it'll still placate fans of the genre. So while it feels a bit phoned in at times, fans of old-school gaming will no doubt get an afternoon of enjoyment out of it.
-
Nov 25, 2013Decent platforming, unfortunately overshadowed by parts that want to make you rip your hair out. In a game with so many cheap ways of killing you, frustration plays a large part.
-
Nov 21, 2013Old school platforming action that's not for the challenge-adverse.
-
Nov 20, 2013Could have been so much better, but it's not garbage.
-
Nov 11, 2013Ultimately, I found myself getting more and more frustrated with each death until it got to the point where completing a level felt like more of a relief than an accomplishment.
-
Nov 11, 2013Aside from a few references hidden here and there, Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land won’t really do much for you if you’re a fan of the show. The game itself can actually be a lot of fun despite all of its problems.
-
Jan 22, 2014Whilst the game certainly has some pitfalls and it would have been nice to see more of the Regular Show characters and personality injected, the varying styles of gameplay are entertaining and the inventive concept has to be admired.
-
games(TM)Jan 23, 2014A disappointment. [Issue#143, p.119]
-
Nov 18, 2013Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land is almost a decent enough game, but serious gameplay flaws keep it from reaching its potential.
-
Nov 13, 2013Not a good start for Mordecai and Rigby's first video game.
-
Nov 4, 2013Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land sounds good on paper, but it falls apart in execution. Between uninspired level and art design, a rash of irritating issues, and less playtime than your average movie, there really isn’t much value to be found for fans of the show—let alone anyone else.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKFeb 12, 2014This is as lazy a use of a license as we've seen recently and this is from the company that made the Smurfs 2 game. [Feb 2014, p.91]
-
Nov 18, 2013Whether or not you believe WayForward is an indie saviour for the Nintendo 3DS, there's no denying that Regular Show is the studio's worst release.
-
Nov 8, 2013Aggressively un-enjoyable. Senseless level design, poor hit detection, and cheap deaths combine for a wholly repellent experience.
-
Nov 5, 20138-Bit Land fails to capture any of the greatness that is Regular Show. The concept has merit, but the execution makes this game entirely skippable.
