When I found Miitopia. At first, I thought it was just any old RPG. But then, I found out it was a sequel to Tomodachi life, so I gave it a try.

And I LOVED IT. In the game, I noticed how you could make anything who you wanted it to be. I'd recommend it to anyone who liked Tomodachi Life, because it is amazing.

Nintendo has done it again, they've made me happy :)

The character's witty dialogue always leaves a smile on my face even when i'm having a bad day. The diversity and branching away from stereotypical RPG roles makes this game unique, in fact I think unique is the best way to describe this game. The game tries to be something new without being too new, its still a standard role-playing game, but with a few twists. Check this Game out if you can! Expand

Miitopia was not a game I expected to enjoy as much as I did, let alone get it. But the idea to try it came out of nowhere and after trying the demo, I bought the game on impulse. But the idea to try it came out of nowhere and after trying the demo, I bought the game on impulse. And like I said, I really enjoyed it, for what it was. Miitopia is an role playing styled game starring Nintendo's own avatar, the Miis. You create your own team of Miis based on those you made or others have made and set out on a journey to rescue the stolen faces of others. The game itself already has a strange concept, but the game itself is oddly addicting. The game has you explore a huge world map, playing through automatic scrolling levels that hold enemy battles, treasure and other events. Each path has set events that will happen. When you enter a battle, your team of four engages the enemy in a typical rpg styled battle. Thing is, you only have control over the Mii you created first to start the game. All your friends are computer controlled. While this does make keeping track of who you play as much simpler, it's a bit boring to only be able to essentially play as one character in the game. On the topic of the Miis, I find that this game handled them very well compared to other games. Each Mii you create for your team can have a job, which dictates what skills, weapons and cloths they can use. On top of that, they can have one of seven personalities, which adds a few more abilities to their list. Their interactions with each other are another interesting concept. Your teammates can build relations with each other to unlock more skills they can use with each other, such as aiding in attacks, taking hits for each other to avenging fallen teammates. And their interactions with each other in odd events here and there are more entertaining than you'd expect. I cracked more than enough smiles while watching them, which is something I didn't expect to do as much as I did. In the end, Miitopia is a surprisingly good game that I could easily compare to the Miis themselves; it's goofy, strange and hard to take seriously, but that's what makes it such a charming experience. While the rpg elements weren't played out in a fully fleshed out way, they weren't terrible for the most part. The story was strange, yet interesting and the way the Miis went about their adventure was charming and entertaining. If Nintendo were to put more effort into the rpg elements, such as full on, player controlled exploring and full control over the whole party, I'd actually be excited to see a sequel. In the meantime, Miitopia is another charming 3DS title that just shows Nintendo's light hearted and goofy side to them. Expand

Miitopia is amazing. Its 67 score is wrong, at least to me. It's one of my favorite games. Like Nintendo would do, this RPG mixes up the menu! This is a very fun and thrilling game. You have very little control over the rest of your team which adds to the illusion of real people with lives in your hands. Is has charming cut scenes and you can make any character in the game as goofy or serious as you wish. A Gandalf Great sage, A king Fat Albert. Your Imagination is the key to the fun of this game

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A somewhat entertaining diversion that feels like they tried to build an actual game up around the Tomodachi Life concept, but sadly features neither the breadth of random whimsical occurrences of that game, nor the depth or challenge of a proper RPG. Only being allowed input on the actions of your player character in battle speeds things along, but leaves the rest up to your team's AI; which handles about half of the 12 (plus 2 hidden) available classes with surprising elegance and the other half with unrepentant stupidity.

The game and its demo open on a strong note, and held my interest for longer than I thought it would with the concept. Unfortunately it will have started pronouncedly dragging its heels by the THIRD time you've built up and then lost your party due to a recurring plot device. There is a postgame, and over 200 "medals" (achievements) to collect, but next to no incentive whatsoever to pursue them.

I did have fun with it, I had some genuine laughs, and I'd recommend checking out the demo if you're curious. Unfortunately, the asking price of $40 USD is entirely too much for what you get and I'd strongly recommend waiting on a sale if it does happen to pique your interest.

At first, the game is pretty addicting and charming, offering a steady stream of new content and memorable moments - though before too long the repetitive nature of the game really begins to kick in. It's certainly a decent game, one perfect for playing in short bursts in the background, though it's debatable whether it's worth the full $40 pricetag.

Amazing game! It really gets your attached to the miis in your party and despite its simplistic nature, it can get pretty intense at times. A light, fun, easy RPG to play when you're tired of intensive games like Smash and Mario. You can sit there, hold B, and watch a story unfold with your Miis. If you do want to play, though, it's also fun that way.

Battle music is some of the best I have heard in any game (some of these songs bring back memories of playing Undertale). This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the story, but I hate the animation. It has a lot of animation errors. The developers don't know how to rig Miis. Mii animations have the worst animations ever. Plus, the dialogue doesn't make any sense (e.g. Mii have trouble with socks though they're not wearing any socks, Mii forgeting to tie their shoelaces though they don't wear any shoelaces). It is very creepy when the Dark Lord steals their face. And this game is rated E for everyone. The game came out in 2016-2017, but why is the animation old and terrible. They wanted to make the game now. They should delete that game, and make a better version of it. It would be called Humantopia. There will be no animation errors. The dialogues will make sense. The absolute worst thing about Miitopia is the fact you cannot control your other party members, which means they WILL do stupid things like using up valuable food just before reaching an Inn, or not healing during a boss battle. Miitopia would be so much better if you had direct control of all your party members, and the new switch version will have the exact same problems.

As the game goes on, more charcters will join your party, you create their faces and choose their class. Gameplay wise this is more of a management game than it is an actual jrpg.. theres very little strategy here other than balancing your team with certain classes… each character attacks on their own.. and youll eventually find yourself just playing on auto battle, going through the motions not even caring what attack your main character uses aside from boss battles.. this is where you need to caerfully use certain attacks, use these sprinkles to regain magic points or health points, or even to bring a character back that has fainted… the rest of the game is a lot of relationship building, putting your miis into rooms together, setting them out on dates… the better their relationship becomes, the better they do in battle together, so eventually you figre out certain skills youd like every charactee to have so you balance relationship accordingly rather than just have on ore 2 charatcers really attached to eachother… but you cant get too attached to your team, because you do lose them.. twice… o oyull be making 3 teams and playing through the campaign ith 3 different classes… but it really does become addicting collecting gold, doing optional levels for better gear or arcade tickets to throw into the roulette or rokc paper siscors… occasionally your characters will aks for money to go shopping and get new weapons and clothing.. you can aslo feed them food and each character reacts differently.. some loving a certain food, others not so much.. but this food boosts your main stats permanately.. so a healer for example you want to boost their defense and magic, youll hardly need bhealing bananas… the magic in this game really does come from the character building.. if youre making charatcers based off of people you know, youre going to be more invested and there are so many hilarious moments as a result… otherwise I can see many get kind of bored of this game probably halfway through, as it is a little repetetiv and feels like it goes on forever…
But I prosnally couldn’t stop playing, and when I did.. I ws thinking about playing..
I did eventually get to the point where I was just pushing through, ready for this to end.. but I didn’t feel this until maybe the final 6 hours of the game.. but miitopia I found to be really special and unique.. a must play if you have a group you can set out on an adventure together.

It's so funny to see King Nicolas Cage get his face stolen from the Dark Lord Tommy Wiseau. This game hardly takes itself seriously, being a more lighthearted and goofy take on the RPG genre, so if you're expecting anything more, you won't like it. The game offers over 20 hours of gameplay, so it often pads itself out for a bit too long, and the jokes and gags can wear thin after a while, but overall, Miitopia is a fun and pleasant experience that doesn't break any new ground, and certainly isn't worth the $40 price tag, but I would recommend you try it out.

While it does have its flaws of being repetitive, I found myself constantly picking it up every night before bed and just powering through sections at a time because it was just a blast to play. Miitopia isn't going to turn heads, nor grab the hardcore RPGamer crowd, but it's a fun little romp for those who want a much more compact and simple RPG experience.

Player’s impact is limited in Miitopia, as you rather watch the gameplay than participate in it. Despite that the game is never dull, just like similar Tomodachi Life a couple of years ago. The difference is that Tomodachi Life was genuinely funny in an absurd way, whereas Miitopia often made me smile but never caused a burst of laughter. [11/2017, p.52]

I really, *really* enjoyed Miitopia, when I fully expected not to. It’s so self-aware, leading to some fantastic moments in the game. But most of all, it’s an RPG adventure that’s basically tailor made for you. I had a blast exploring Miitopia with my friends, seeing interactions that would never happen in real life, and saving the world from the evil Vook. Even if you think you might not like it, I highly encourage playing the demo. If you enjoyed that, the full game is so much better.
