I love my 3DS and despite it missing a second analog stick
I have enjoyed games like resident evil when I first did not believe
It could work with only one analog stick. As a snake fan I jumped on this game believing it would be fun. Guess again!!! I just can't believe how bad the camera and the controls are. I really tried to give it a chance but it made me furious how bad it's

Poor port. They should have spend more time on it for the 3DS and fine tuned the
camera and controllers. In current shape for me at least the game in unplayable
    hence the low grade.

Kojima apparently couldn't be bothered to put a single bit of effort into this game. MGS3 is a great game, but he did such a lazy half-assed job with this port that it's almost sad. Other 3DS games like Resident Evil Revelations have shown that the 3DS is capable of great graphics, but the amount of pixelation, muddy textures, and frame rate issues here is almost unforgivable, it's like heKojima apparently couldn't be bothered to put a single bit of effort into this game. This game would probably have run better without 3D as well. MGS3D is still PLAYABLE, and I understand the hurdles Kojima faced to try and utilize this game with the 3DS's unique control scheme, but no one should honestly support the shoddy workmanship that went into this. My first and only Metal Gear game. Not my style of game story-wise. Very boring and very difficult to adapt to it on the small size of the 3DS console. Had no idea where the boss was and how to fight it. Played till the middle of the game approximately and abandoned it for good.

If you'll notice the review dates for all those 10s and 9s, its Feb 21 or 22, 2012.
The game was released on February 21, so take all those 'good' reviews, and notice the bad reviews all magically have '0 out of 13 users found this helpful'.
What a toxic, denial-ridden fanbase you guys were, in 2012. THIS IS NOT A GOOD VERSION! All the 3d and portability in the world cant make this a

THIS IS NOT A GOOD VERSION!
All the 3d and portability in the world cant make this a good game.
The framerate is crap, the c-stick nub control is GARBAGE, the alternative of using the face buttons to look around works. It works BADLY! This is a game based on quick reflexes, and without the right joystick, and taking into account the framerate dips during boss fights.. (Those first-day reviewers OBVIOUSLY didnt make it to THE FEAR boss fight before they threw out those glowing 10/10 reviews)
Now all those issues aside, YES the core game is still there. But there is little enjoyment to be had during boss fights or when the alarm goes off.
Sneaking is still good, but we cant just hand out a sympathy award for being a game on a tiny screen.
The game is playable, but barely. The 3d is good, but this is a tech demo ~ NOT representative of the actual game on PS2.

I love this game. Before this, I never played a Metal Gear game and as an introduction to the series, it doesn't dissapoint. The weapons are satisfying to use, the curing mechanic is great attention to detail, and it's an overall a good game and a SOLID port. (see what I did there?)

Snake Eater is an experience that quickly differentiated from others and we found the best of Kojima and this 3D version it's a much better option for fans of the series.

While it has some issues it is still completely playable but some people may be turned off by the learning curve of the controls and spotty frame rate but if you are able to looks past all of that then you can still find a fun time.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is not the game's best version: it retains some flaws from the original game and adds new conversion-issues. Still, it's a good example of the series' classic gameplay.
