    Mario and Sonic, a rivalry for the ages and picking up this game on the 3DS you would be expecting a high standard game for all the hype between the two icons. Sadly this game falls short of a Nintendo or Sega fans attention. I will be first to admit, when i first played this game it was fun on but sadly the entertainment became very lack-luster after the first hour of gameplay, becauseMario and Sonic, a rivalry for the ages and picking up this game on the 3DS you would be expecting a high standard game for all the hype between the two icons. Sadly this game falls short of a Nintendo or Sega fans attention. I will be first to admit, when i first played this game it was fun on but sadly the entertainment became very lack-luster after the first hour of gameplay, because throughout the entire story mode you are following the same system over and over again. The game has many obvious problems for example the 3D feature is almost unavailable in the game because its always asking me to put my DS on my desk. Also some events fall short of grabbing someones interest because all the fun events are much to short while the boresome ones are far too long. Medleys are not even close to comparing to London Party from the Wii version of this game. Back to the story it puzzles me that they why they didnt incorporate the free roam feature from the characters winter olympics. With gameplay being a gamers main focus in the game why do they limit you to categories of characters and for 4 character team events why even bring up the character select screen when you use all the characters anyways. With the limitations in this game it really blocks creativity for the player to use since Bowser cant do Floor or Judo (Unless faced in story mode). Personally I would buy the Wii version of this game in a heartbeat but its personal preference but for you Nintendo and Sega two words " Next Time".… Expand

Remember all of those fun Olympic events and dream events that the wii version had, well the 3DS version throws all of that out the window. In the 3DS version you get weak events and a horrible story mode. the events in the 3DS version aren't even sporting events, youMario and sonic at the london 2012 olympic games was great, the wii version that is. but the 3DS version is REALLY bad. Remember all of those fun Olympic events and dream events that the wii version had, well the 3DS version throws all of that out the window. In the 3DS version you get weak events and a horrible story mode. the events in the 3DS version aren't even sporting events, you just mash buttons and you win, for example, instead of a full soccer game like the wii version, you just have to block a bunch of shots from getting into the net, after 20 shots you win, if you miss 5 you lose. these do not simulate sporting events at all, you are just playing an easy minigame to win it's horrible. so what if the 3DS version has more "events" that the wii version, half of the events are just mashing buttons or yelling into the microphone but I'll get to that later. for example, the 3ds version has a boxing event, but all you have to do to win is let go of the button before your opponent does, they just lunge at each other in slow motion and one punch and it's a K.O, this is not boxing, I don't even know what to call it, but it's definitely not boxing. and instead of being able to select any character you want for an event, the game has separated all of the characters into groups for each event, you can only chose a group of four characters for each event. you can't play as sonic in the boxing match, or bowser in swiming, nope you just have to chose out of 4 different characters for each event, the groups are, wild ones, heroes, tricksters, girls, and challengers, why can't I just play as any character I want, why? oh and even worse some events make you YELL INTO THE 3DS MICROPHONE, that's terrible, other events use the 3DS gyroscope and they are just as bad as the microphone games. and then there's the story mode, it's probably the worst story I have ever heard in any game ever, what happens is DR eggman and bowser have teamed up and are going to ruin the olympic games by creating heavy fog. my two favorite video game villains finally team up and the best they can come up with is covering the city in fog, that's really sad. then there are evil fog versions of mario and sonic and you have to defeat them all, now how do you defeat them you have to play against them in regular sport events, really? and then after making it to the end of story mode you finally get to Bowser and DR eggman, instead of an epic final boss fight you just play against them in sports, THIS IS ONE OF SEGA AND NINTENDO'S BIGGEST MISSED OPPORTUNITIES EVER. they could have redeemed the game with one of the best final bosses in any 3DS game, but no. but final verdect is, if you want this game get the wii version, avoid the 3DS version at all costs, the only thing that keeps me from giving it a zero is okay graphics.… Expand

    About this game. I went to gamestop to pick up this game thinking it would be good like the other Mario and sonic games, well I was wrong!

    this game does nothing for the fans. the game lacks anything more than the bare minimum and wat is there is never fleshed out enough to be engaging.

    Sega's intentions with this game were undoubtedly good, but the story mode is lacking and the mini game collections paltry. There are much better offerings on 3DS than this.

    Even though Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is good looking and charming, it lacks severely in the gameplay category and no one will be able to have even a tiny bit of fun with these sports events.
